(UPD—Convicted “Mad Dog” killer Leslie Irvin has taken another step in his fight to escape the electric chair. , Attorney Theodore Lockyear said he mailed a petition to the U. S. Supreme Court to review a decision made by the federal appeals court at Chicago Which set aside a stay of execution for Irvin. Lockyear said the U.S. attorney would have 30 days to file a brief ’ in opposition to granting the re-j view which raises several argu-j ments that Irvin’s constitutional rights Were denied during a Gibson County trial in which Irvin was convicted.

Minor Accident litCity This Morning City police reported a minor twocar accident this morning qn rain* slick streets at the intersection of Jefferson and Second streets. A car driven by Daniel G. Christen. 49, of 346 S. First street, collided with a car driven by Edna M. Walters, 33, of 604 N. Second street, causing $45 in total damages.
