WOMKN'R SOCIKTY NF.ABM LEMON ON AFRICA The regular monthly meeting of the Monroe Methodist Women's, Society of Christian Service was held Thursday evening in the youth room of the church A piano prelude by Mr* Phillip Barter opened the program Mr*., Paul Ixibsigcr presented the lesson • on Africa and showed colored slides of the missionary workers tn Africa and Mrs. Homer Winteregg offered a prayer in behalf of African women. Devotions were! given by the Rev Gierhart. followed oy a piano solo by Miss Joselyn | McCollough. Mrs. Glen Stucky, president of the organization. Con-, ducted the business meeting, during which she Announced that I there will be a shower for the new kitchen recently completed in, the basement of the church. Brunner of Pleasant Mills. * ; v Preceding the bride and her father down the aisle was Miss Judy Williamson, maid of honor, who was attired in a' light blue velveteen sheath dress with puffed sleeves and’ a blue feather hat and carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations. The bride apI peared in a white wool sheath I dress, fashioned with a scalloped neckline. A white feather hat and. a bouquet of red roses completed' her ensemble. For her daughter’s wedding, Locals Miss Marcella Hower of Indinaapolis returned to her home Sunday after spending the weekend with the Carl Gerber family. She was accompanied home by her mother, Mrs. M. E. Hower, for an indefinite stay. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Kmninman of Fort Wayne were guests of the Darrel Cooksons Saturday. Guests in the Cookson home Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Goebel of Decatur, and William Cookson and Mr. and Mrs. Paul McGough of Willshire. Mrs. William Kruse has returned to Decatur after spending the past five weeks in Pontiac, Mieh. Glenn Hill will Ry to Tampa, Fla. today to join his wife. Harold Mumma and Mrs. Roy Mumma,, who motored down Friday. Mrs. Mumma and the Hills will remain in Florida throughout the winter. Mrs. George Flanders has returned to her home after spending several weeks visiting her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Lawrence, in Peru. Mrs. Tom Noble of Indianapolis visited with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmitz over the weekend. Sunday afternoon guests of the Schmitz’s were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brames of Fort Wayne. Bill Lichtenstiger. of Baltimore, Md., visited in Decatur over the weekend withehis father, E. M. Lichtenstiger. Indianapolis Woman Killed In Tennessee ONEIDA, Tenn. <UPD — Mrs. Flonnie V. Johns, 24, Indianapolis. Ind., was killed and her two sisters were injured Saturday when an auto crashed into a bridge near Robbins, Tenn. Injured were Mrs. Helen Frogge, 27, Winston-Salem, N.C.. and Louise Cochran. 18, Robbins. Mrs. Frogge was reported in serious condition at Scott County Hospital, but Miss Cochran was injured only slightly.
