Firemen recovered nine bodies from the ruins of the Kinugasa Hospital. Police reported four women and seven newly-born babies were missing and .feared dead. « The fire broke out in th maternity ward and spread swiftly through the old wooden building, trapping the infants as well as aged and paralyzed patients.
