Van Wert's Dairy Tour Slated Friday Adams county dairymen have been invited to attend the Van Wert county dairy tour Friday, according to an announcement by L. C. Holtkamp, Van Wert county agricultural agent, to Leo N. Seltenright, Ajdams county agent. The tour "will visit four dairy farms in Williams county, Ohio. The first stop will be at 9:30 a. m. at Jake Hartman’s near Bryan, Ohio. Hartman is located four miles north of Bryan to road H then east to first road (1- I*4 miles) then south to first farm, for a 30 cow grade Holstein, 1957 owner sample, average 547 lb.» butterfat, 3 cow milking parlor, pipeline, bulk tank, electro-brain washer. This year he constructed a pole loafing shed 61’ x 75,’ a concrete yard 60’ x 100', a 16’ x 60’ silo and a 60’ auger feeder with silo unloader. (Park along road). Stop ll—-Rigg and McCoy Bryan—3o cow registered Holsteins, 3 cow milking parlor, pipe line, electro-brain washer, new bulk tank, , silo, unloader, rot-bunker feeder, chopped hay feeding system, barn addition, loose housing, etc. (Park along road.) Noon—Eat in Montpelier. Stop 111—1:15 p. m. Willis Bible, 3’4 miles north of Montpelier on U. S. alternate 20 to U. S. 20, then east to second farm on south side of road. 50 grade Holstein herd on 100 acre farm. In 1958 he sold 572,000 lbs. of milk from less than 40 cows. 3 cow parlor, pipeline bulk tank, electro-brain, 2 big, one small silo, silo unloader, auger feeding, large cement feeding yard, new pole type hay barn for some 400 tons bay, 5 ton bulk feed ’Storage with automatic feeder. Stop IV—William Koener & Sons, Edgerton. 100 cow grade Holsteins, 452 lb. fat average in 1958, two bunker silos, 3 upright silos, a new (should be done 16 cow herringbone milking parlor, pipeline milking, 1000 gallon bulk tank, semi-automatic silage feeding, (own construction), new pole hay and loafing barn, 200 tons stacked silage but propably fed up by Friday. Joe Blickle, Ohio State University extension building engineer, and Charles Blackman, extension dairy specialist, will be on the tour to make comments and answer questions. • Lincoln School PTA Will Meet Thursday The December meeting of the Lincoln school P.T.A. will be held Thursday evening at the Lincoln school auditorium. Starting promptly at 7:30 p. m„ this will be the annual Christmas program for the organization. Pupils of the third grades and members of the seventh grade choir and the junior band will present a musical program. All members are requested to attend. Salesman Molests Huntington Girl A man posing as a salesman in Huntington molested an eight-year-old girl about 3:45 p. m. Monday and stole S3O to S4O from her home while her parents were gone. The man tied the girl’s arms behind her with a belt after gaining admittance as an insurance salesman, and attempted to gag her with two headscarves, but let her go when she screamed. Divorce Is Granted To Mother Os Seven Elizabeth Jane Jacobs of Wren has been granted an absolute dimorce from Charles Elwood Jacobs by the Van Wert court on the grounds of gross neglect of duty and extreme cruelty. Jacobs is an inmate of the Toledo workhouse where he • was sentenced March 6, 1959, for one year and fined SSOO and costs for contributing to the delinquency of the couple’s seven minor children. The children are in the custody of the Van Wert juvenile court. The parties were married in June, 1944, in CeUna, 0.
