Treated for head injuries was John A. Malloy, 22. Gary, driver of the car. Police arested Malloy on a preliminary charge of reckless driving and failure to have an operator's license.

Hoosiers awakened to find that icy air which invaded the state Wednesday had sent the mercury spiraling to the low 20s over a wide area, including 21 at Goshen, 22 at South Bend, 23 at Fort Wayne and Lafayette, 24 at Indianapolis and 31 at Evansville, Most stations got rain or rain mixed with snow during the weather transition Wednesday. At Indianapolis, precipitation totaled one-fourth of an inch. Elsewhere it was less. Although the mercury was generally in the 50s at daybreak Wednesday, it fell steadily to near freezing by noon and finished its plunge during the night. Forecasts called for highs today ranging from 36 to 40 north to 41 to 46 south, lows tonight ranging from 28 to 35 north to 38 to 42 south, and highs Friday ranging from 38 to 42 north to 45 to 52 south. A colder trend was expected Saturday. Rain or snow was likely in the north portion, rain in the central and south late tonight and Friday. H. — A registered Guernsey cow, Anns Noble Boss, owned by Roger Moser and Son, of Berne, has completed an official production record. according to the American Guernsey cattle club This record Was for 11,101, pounds of milk and 513, pounds or fat. “Boss” was a senior, two year old and was milked two times daily for 305 days while on test.
