JOLLY HOUSEWIVES MEET AT PLEASANT MILLS SCHOOL Tuesday evening, members of the Jolly Housewives Home Demon stration Club met at the Pleasant Mills high school with president, Mrs. Richard Mailand, opening the meeting with the repeating of the club creed. Mrs. Milton Chronister read from Psalms 100 for the scripture lesson and also read a poem. The Lord’s Prayer was repeated in unison, after which history of the song of the month, “A Merry Life,” was read by Mrs. Clyde Jones. During a business session, suggestions for a county trip were discussed. An auction was held with the hostesses for May and June furnishing the articles. After Mrs. Will Evans was presented with a gift commemorating her fiftieth wedding anniversary, and Mrs. Marshell Hilpert was awarded the door prize, refreshments were served by Mrs. Leland Ray, Mrs. Clyde Jones. Mrs. Milton Chronister, and Mrs. Kenneth Ohler. MISS JANE GRIMM IS FETED WITH BRIDAL SHOWER A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Miss Jane Grimm was held recently with the Mesdames Harold Myers, Robert Reynolds, Ernest Belella, and Lawrence Gallogly as hostesses. Upon her arrival. Miss Grimm was presented with a corsage of miniature kitchen utensils. She was then seated by a table that was decorated with a sprinkling can and green and yellow streamers that flowed out over an array of gifts. • After Miss Grimm had opened her gifts, refreshments were served to the Mesdames Eugene Beam. SARAH MARTIN IS WEDNESDAY HOSTESS The home of Mrs. Sarah Martin was the scene of a meeting of the St. Paul Missionary Ladies Aid Wednesday evening. Nine members, three children, and two visitors were in attendance. A luncheon was served at the, noon hour and the remainder of the day spent in quilting. Hostess for the September meeting will be Mrs. Jack Mcßride. NORMAN E. POLLOCK CLAIMS OHIO BRIDE Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Shipman of 1116 Powell View Drive, Defiance. Ohio, announce the marriage of their daughter, Dianne Marie, to Norman E. Pollock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Pollock of 603 Jefferson street, Decatur. Hie* wedding ceremony was solemnized in the First Methodist church of Angola by the Rev. Harold Backert Friday evening. Miss Linda Pollock, sister of the bridegroom, and Stanley Allison, friend of the bridegroom, were the couple’s only attendants. Pollock is a 1952 graduate of Decatur high school and attended International Business college. He is now assistant manager of the Budget Loan company in Decatur. The new Mrs. Pollock graduated in 1956 from Defiance high school and is also a graduate of Elkhart University. She is employed as a lab and X-ray technician at the Adams county memorial hospital. After a northern honeymoon, the couple is at home at 840’4 Mercer avenue. MONMOUTH GRADUATES OF 1948 MEET RECENTLY The annual class reunion for members of the 1948 Monmouth graduating class, was held recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller of rural route 1, Decatur.
