Vera Cruz Wreck Victims Improve Two persons Injured in an accident in which a young Vera Cruz girl was killed Saturday are snowing signs of improvement. Mrs. Kenneth Schaefer and son Sammy continue to improve at tiie Wells county hospital, after being injured when their car was struck by a milk truck at State Roads 201 and 316, west of the Wells county state game preserve, Saturday morning. Services were-conducted at the Goodwin funeral home in Bluffton and at the Apostolic Christian church, near Vera Cruz, Tuesday afternoon for Rose Marie Schaefer, 13, who was fatally injured. Sammy will observe his seventh birthday in the hospital Friday. He does not know to date that his sister was killed, and has not seen his mother since the accident. Friends request the public to send birhtday cards to the hospital. Bailey Turning Left In Saturday Accident In a two-car accident reported by the city police Saturday Rufus Bailey, 49. was the driver of the automobile attempting a left turn at the intersection of 13th and Nuttman. which was struck in the rear by Clois D. Eicher, 45, of route 3, Decatur. A previous report had the drivers switched. Eicher’s machine was pushing another vehicle, which missed the Bailey car, but Eicher’s car didn’t. Damage to the Bailey mahcine was S2OO and $35 to the Eicher car. Truck-Car Collision Results from Waiting City police reported a truck-car collision at 13th and the Erie railroad tracks on Tuesday evening, involving S3O damages to the car. A string of cars, waiting for the gates to raise, started up and then stopped. A truck driven by Sammy J. Yost, 28, of route 4, Decatur, failed to stop in time to avoid hitting the rear end of a car driven by Leßoy V. Hoagland, 37, of Monroe.
