Klenks Loses To Oilers In 10th Inning Decatur Klenks dropped a heart breaker to the league leading Colonial Oilers Sunday afternoon, 4-3, in 10 irihings at State School. Klenks bad rallied for two runs in the ninth to tie the score but the winning run was forced in on a walk with the bases loaded in the 10th. The Oilers, undefeated in league play, scored twice in the first inning on a hit batter, a tripe by Ellenberger and a single by Parrish. Klenks scored one in the fifth on a walk and an error. Colonial tallied once in the seventh on a hit by Massucci, a pair of infield outs and an error. Klenks tied the score with two in the ninth on only one hit. Cloys walked and Clase survived on an error. Goeglein’s single drove in one run and the second scored on an infield out. The Oilers loaded the bases witS none out in the 10th on a hit by Parrish and two walks. Whitehurst relieved Harnish on the mound but walked Vance to force in the winning run. Klenks will play the Tri-City Tigers at Worthman field Thursday night at 8 o’clock. Wednesday. July 22. The champion of the playoff tourney here will then play the Napoleon district winner at Defiance, O. ,at 9 p. m. Monday, July--27. Four teams will be entered In this tourney, with the finals to be played Tuesday, July 28, at Defiance. The local playoff tourney is being underwritten by the Fager Sporting Goods store of this city. Wynn is supervisor of the playoff tourney to be held in Decatur. ’ The Adams county All-Star team, composed of 15 players, plus two alternates, will be announced Wednesday by officials of the Pony League. The team will be managed by the Berne team’s manager and coaching staff, as Berne was leading the county league as of July 4.
