Handleys To Attend Queen Receptions INDIANAPOLIS (UP I)—Governor and Mrs. Handley will go to Chicago Monday for festival activities in connection with the visit of Queen Elizabeth. It will be the Handley’s second visit with the British ruler. They were in Montreal last weekend when the Queen and President Eisenhower officially opened the St. Lawrence Seaway. Handley said they will attend both a luncheon Monday noon given by Illinois Gov. William Stratton and the formal dinner Monday night for 1,009 guests given by Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley. Chicago is the only American city on the Queen’s agenda during her current visit. Short-Cut DETROIT (UPD— Install a combination washer-dryer on the second floor of your home, rather than in the basement. With the laundry center close to bedrooms, where soiled linen originates, you’ll cut needless stair-climbing. Also, with a modern combination unit, you can do the laundry in small batches at convenient times and possibly bypass the allday washing chore, said Carl Sundberg, partner in a Detroit industrial design firm specializing in appliances.
