Driver Fined For Reckless Driving A Decatur motorist received a 10-day driver's license suspension, a six-month suspended jail sentence, and a fine of $5 and costs this morning in city court after pleading guilty to charges on a citizen’s complaint of reckless driving. Paul Edward Swykart, 23, of 521 S. 13th street, was arrested by city police on a warant after he was detected driving recklessly on Jefferson stret at 8:04 p.m. Saturday. Baptist Young People Attend Summer Comp Four young people from the Decatur Baptist cnurcn attended tbe senior camp at Lake Tippecanoe June 14-20. They were Kathleen Call, Nancy Oephart, Donna Painter John Bedwell. Those attending the junior high camp June 21-27 are — Becky Soldner, Charlotte Gephart, Cheryl Lobsiger, Linda Fulton, Joan Stevenson, Linda Hirschy, Steve Gephart, Danny Baumgartner and Richard Eix. The Rev. Stuart Brightwell will be director of this camp period. Serving as counselors from the local Baptist church are: Mrs. Stuart Brightwell, Jane Bedwell, Cecilia Lehman and Karen Call. Approximately 150 Baptist young people from Northern Indiana will be attending the camp for this week. Broken Reins Cause Accident Saturday The broken reins on a horse and buggy caused damage estimated at $250 to an automobile driven by Robert L. Sipe, 35, of route 2, Berne, Saturday at 10:15 a.m. on county road 118, five miles east of Berne. Tbe horse suffered a deep 4-inch gash on his right front leg, while damages to the rig were estimated at sls. by the sheriff’s police, who investigated. Sipe, while traveling west on the road, noticed tKat me buggy in the lane ahead of him was having difficulty. He veered his car onto the north berm, just as the horse veered off onto the berm, resulting in the accident. The buggy, driven by Ruben Schwartz, 16, of Berne, was owned by his father, Jacob E. Schwartz, 50, also of Berne, who was a passenger in the rig. The left side of the car, including both doors and fenders, was scraped and dented. Trade it a good town — Decatur.
