MRS. JERRY WILLIAMSON HONORED WITH SHOWER A stork shower honoring Mrs. Jerry Williamson was held recently at the home of Mrs. Don Moser. A corsage of baby articles was presented to the future mother upon her arrival at the Moser home, which was appropriately decorated in summer. colors. Gifts for Mrs. Williamson were placed .in a baby bassinet decorated with a green, yelow, and .white theme. Games were played and prizes won by Miss Mara Dee Striker, Mrs. Dave Burdette and Mrs. Gene Williamson, were in turn presented to the guest of honor. Refreshments of cake and punch were served to the Mesdames Dave Burdette' Earl Williamson, Gene Williamson, Charles Jessup, Neil Keller, Will Kohls, Paul Heller and Miss’ Mara Dee Striker. Un-
able to attend but sending gifts were Mrs. Tuk Faulkner, Mrs. Gerald Strickler, and Miss Judy Locke. Assisting the hostess throughout the evening, were Mrs. Dan Cowans, Miss Linda Pollock, and Miss Jeannine Schultz. A K. of C. card party will be held this evening at 8 o’clock at the K. of C. hall. Tuesday at 6:30 o’clock, members of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia will hbld a potluck supper at the C. L. of C. hall. MRS. DICK CALLS MEETING TO ORDER The meeting of the Profit and Pleasure Home Demonstration club members, was called to order by Mrs. Clarence Dick recently. Following the club creed, the song of the month was sung and its history given by Mrs. Clifford Landis. Mrs. Oscar Miller was in charge of the devotions with the lesson on wills and deeds being given by Mrs. Severin Schurger. Roll call was answered by the members describing their wedding dresses, after which the minutes of the May meeting were read by Mrs. Landis. Mrs. Miller was in charge of the safety lesson on insurance. It was announced during the business part of the meeting, that >the Fort Wayne trip has been postponed until September. Mrs. Melvin Mcßarnes and Mrs. Landis were m charge of the game period at the close of the meeting. Refreshments were served by the hostesses to 15 members and Mrs. John Schurger, £uest.
FOUR NEW MEMBERS JOIN CLUB MONDAY Sixteen regular members and four new members were present for the Monday meeting of the Welcome Wagon club. Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg was hostess, assisted by Mrs. Elmer Phelps > and Mrs. Richard McMahan. The business meeting was opened by the members repeating the club prayer, followed with the club song. Members answered roll call by telling where and how they met their husbands. A Tupperware party was held during the evening and games and contests were played, with gifts presented to the winners. Mrs. Harold Messick will serve as hostess for the next meeting. Members of the Decatur Garden club are asked to take note, that the annual pilgrimage will be held in Forf Wayne Tuesday. Reservations must be made by Sunday noon with Mrs. Don MacLean, Mrs. Wesley Lehman, Mrs. Gail Baughman, Mrs. Fred. Ashbaucher, or Mrs. Amos Ketchum.
PSI IOTA XI PLANS CONVENTION "The Golden Years of Song,” with special emphasis on four eras in the history of the Psi lota Xi korority, will be the theme of the 36th annual convention to be held at the Purdue Memorial Union, West Lafayette, June 12 and 13. Members of Kappa chapter, Kokomo, will be hostesses with Mrs. Charles Coe and Mrs. Glenn Fritzlen serving as co-chaiFmen of the convention. Mrs. Norma Moore, president, and Mrs. Jane Reed, corresponding secretary; will act' as official i delegates from the Alpha Delta chapter of Decatur. Mrs. John P. Krebser. Kokomo, national president of Psi lota Xi, will preside at all business sessions. Other national council members arriving on June 11 for a preconvention meeting and dinner at the Lafayette country club will be: Mrs. G. R. Gillespie, Brownstown, vice president; Mrs. Arthur Knochel. Remington, secretary; Mrs. Orville Hamacher, Brook, treasurer; Mrs. G. Wayne Gorby, Sullivan, advisor; Mrs. William Miles, Bloomfield, editor; Mrs. Robert White, Loganspdrt, conductress; Mrs. John B. Moriarty, Fort Wayne, philanthropic chairman; Mrs. Keith Matthews, Brownsburg, symphony chairman; Mrs. Norman Ebrite, Delphi, northern province chairman: Mrs. W. P. Dawn, Muncie, central province chairman; Mrs. Wm. Falk. Jr., New Albany, southern province chairman. and Mrs. Edgar Closson, Logansport, publicity chairman. Registration will begin Thursday evening and continue through Friday morning. The official welcome at the opening business session at 10:30 a m. will be given by Fred Willis, mayor of West Lafayette. During the morning and afternoon sessions, reports on the various national philanthropic projects will be heard. Mrs. John B. Moriarty, national philanthropic chairman, Will present the guests • speakers . who will represent, each of the projects. Reports will be heard from Dr. Alan Huckleberry, Robert K. Schmidt, Dr. Betty Ann Wilison, Dr. T. D. Hanley, Miss Mary Boardman, Mrs. Leonidas Smith, Mrs. Willis Tomlinson. Mrs. John Haysmaker, and Sig Alexander. A Voluntary project carried out by the individual chapters in cooperation with the Indiana assocition for mental health, will show the delegates that Christmas gifts for 1,715 children at Fort Wayne Training School, New Castle State School and Muscatatuck State School at Butlerville were provided, representing a value of $3,093. Other projects to be discussed are Vermillion County Mental Health Unit, Eastern Illinois and the Washington. D.C. Hearing Society. In the final business session, the ) 500 delegates and members from ) the 97 Psi lota Xi chapters representing a 6.000 membership will vote on philanthropic projects with the election and installation of national officers concluding the convention business. Mrs. Ted Hill, philanthropic chairman of the Alpha Delta chapter reports that financial support and community service have been given in Decatur during this past year. Everready Sunday school class members will meet at the Methodist church Thursday at 7:30 o’clock.
