You’ll find your answer in this column, which la published each Saturday.) 1. Q—l’m a teacher and get paid for 9 months of the year. Does this mean I’ll only get credit for 3 quarters of coverage each year? A—lt is only necessary that you be paid as much as SSO in a calendar quarter to recive credit for a quarter of coverage, and therefore it is possible for you to acquire 4 quarters of coverage in a year. 2. I have been drawing social securty benefits of a widow since my husband’s death in 1951. 1 run a rooming house and wonder if that would be classed as self-em-ployment and if so, what should I do?

A—Your earnings from the rooming house would be covered if you have a net profit of S4OO a year or more and you would' be required to pay self-employment tax on your net income. You should call at your local social security office at once to see how your income will affect your social security payments. 3. Q—l worked as a laborer and qualified for soial security benefits in 1952. Since then I have operated my farm and paid selfemployment tax since 1955. Can I draw any more social security? A—Your question can’t be answered without knowing how much your income has been. In any case, we suggest you contact your local social security office. Take your tax returns for the last two years with you and they’ll be able to tell you just how much you can get. 4. Q—l retired last July and have drawn social security benefits since that time. I have just received a card through the mail asking for a report of my earnings for last year. Is this necessary? • A—Yes—everyone who drew benefits for one or more months and made over SI2OO in the year must file an annual report of earnings. The only exception is the person who was over 72 all year. 5. Q—l am a widow, 69 years old, and have been working regularly keeping house for my daughter while she is working. I don’t understand why I’m not entitled to social security, since work as a domestic is covered. A—Family employment, that is, work performed for a son,
