Berne Bears Take EIC Track Title The Berne Bears rolled up 80 pointj to win the Eastern Indiana conference track champions, held Tuesday aftenoon at Ball State Teachers College in Muncie. The Hartford Gorillas were second with 43 points, Adams Central * third with 41, Bryant fourth with 38, followed by Albany, 33, Montpelier 30%, Geneva 14, Lancaster Central 11, and Monmouth 2. Roll failed to score. The victory also gave Berne the all-sports conference trophy, the Bears scoring 97% ponits to barely nose out Albany, 96. Three new records were set, in the 110-yard dash, 440-yard run and the mile relay, and marks were tied in the high jump and high hurdles. The track meet marked the end of the Eastern Indiana, as the conference is being disbanded with the close of this school year. Masters, of Bryant, was the individual star winning three events, high jump, pole vault and shot put. Double winners were Amstutz, of Berne, who took both dash events, and Fullhart, of Albany, who won the 440-yard run and the broad jump.
