Design-lt-Yourself Unique Feature Os Newest Stock Entrance Door

The newest and one of the most intriguing advancements in the home building materials field today is a new stock panel entrance door you can design yourself. This means that families who are planning to build or remodel a home, as well as architects and builders, can now have the beauty and individuality of a custom-made door at stock door cost and availability. As the photograph shows, this new entrance door of ponderosa pine has three equal-size panels. However, when the door is manufactured, the panels are not installed. Instead, 12 different styles of insert panels to fit the basic door are made separately. These include five styles of glass panels, four solid inserts of different design, and three styles of simulated louver panels. These 12 styles of panels make It possible for the family building or remodeling a house to choose from 1,500 different entrance designs by arranging the panels in different combinations. Even more distinction can be achieved by painting the panels in harmonizing or contrasting colors. Building material dealers now are stocking the new door along with complete selections of panels. After a family has chosen the combination of insert panels they like for their door, it will be delivered with these panels installed, ready to hang. A further advantage of the new ponderosa pine door is that the panel inserts can be removed and new ones in different styles

Quality Features Are Engineered Into Wood Cabinets at Factory

When th elayman sets out to plan a home he often can do a surprisingly good job, provided he’s wise enough to see|: advice from the “pros” regarding features with which he may not be familiar. A person planning a new kitchen, for example, might do well to heed the recent recommendation of House & Home, a leading building trade publication. The magazine’s experts advised builders to use factory-made cabinets rather than those built on the job. Factory Builds Better “Factory-made cabinets are al-' Wst Ways better,” said the' experts, “because factory finishes can be better controlled and factory tolerances are almost always more exact; so their doors and drawers fit better and work easier.

_“Also, factory-made cabinets are usually better planned with good special features like metal bread drawers that few locally fabricated cabinets offer.” - Economy also is a factor in the preference, the publication pointed out. Most items in a house, it explained, can be made better and cheaper in a .factory than (they can be made on the building site. Recognition of this fact has been growing rapidly of late, particularly with respect to all-wood , kitchen cabinets, the kind preferred by the vast majority of home buyers. Built to High Standards In addiition to the specific advantages of factory-built cabinets by House & Home, there fare others which help account for the growing popularity of the units.
