The legionnaires said the measure creates pore inequities in the pension system than it corrects. The' Legipn’s rehabilitation commission submitted an unfavorable report oq the amendment to the pension laws. The commission said the bill was based on the principle that the veteran did not deserve a needs program separate from the general social security programs. The Legion’s tulips body also supported President Eisenhower’s stand in the Berlin crisis, supported the continuance of military alliances and aid to nations willing to resist the spread of Communism, called for more positive action in protecting the lives and security of Americans in foreign countries, and condemned Red China for it’s aggression in Tibet. .
