The meeting was held in the Lincoln school auditorium Tuesday evening. J The meeting was opened by Cubmaster Bill Murray, and the scouts thep stood and repeated the Cub oath. The entire crowd joined , in the pledge to the flag. To com- ’ plete the opening, the scouts sang the Cub Scout “Welcome Song.” The den skit was in the form of a square dance, following the
theme of the month, “Down on the farm.” In it, the boys dressed the parts, both male and female, and went through a complete series of the sefuare dance calls. Two new members of the pack were recognized as Murray presented Bobcat pins to Phillip Sears and Denny Markley. Assistant cubmaster Stan Kling presented Wolf patches to Kenny Gause. Jerry Rich. terest sheet for the boys to take' home for their parents. The sheet contained a list of the various jobs for adults In Cub scouting, and it is hoped that mor« workers for the pack can be obtained. It is also believed that through the use to fthe sheet, helpers can be put to work in the fields they are best! suited for. Announcement was made by Murray that the May committee
meeting will be held May ?, and the next pack meeting is scheduled for May 19. Mention was also made of t|ie Scout circus in Fort Wayne ihis wekend. The formal meeting was closed as everyone sang “Good-Night Cub Scouts.” Several articles made by the boys during their den meetings were on display, and they were inspected by the crowd,

Future Rural Youth Activities Planned Ten Adams county rural youth members were among the 120 in attendance at the district rural youth meeting held Monday evening at the Bryant high school gym. Jay county rural youth members served as hosts for this meeting and also provided the refreshments at the close of the meeting. All ten censes in the district, plus numerous guests from other districts were in attendance at the meeting.* Ron Bridgewoter of Tip to n county, district president conducted the business meeting which included group singing and devotions. Plans were announced for the district bowling tournament Sunday, May 17 at the Jo-Co lanes in Marion. Each county is entitled to enter three teams in the tournament. The district square dance is scheduled for Saturday night, June 27 in Tipton. The dates of June 12 to 14 were announced as the weekend state leisure time camp to be held at Camp Crosley on Lake Tippecanoe in Kosciusko county. Reservations are limited to 200 and 75 reservations have already been sent in. Miss Anna K. Williams and Paul Crooks of the state extension staff at Purdue University, in charge of the better living and better farming program, presented the educational feature with a flannelgraph talk on "Planning for the future." Membership awards were announced and Howard county in this district was the winner. The attendance bowbell was won by Wabash county. May 23, the state membership dance will be held at Goldings in Indianapolis. Everyone is invited to attend this dance from 8:30 until 11:30 p.m. Those attending from Adams county were: Delores Rodenbeck, Legora Markle, Sally McCullough, Carolyn Moore, Nancy Biberstein, Keith Ezra, Carl Bluhm, Ted Kipfer, Marvine Schwefer and Gloria Koeneman. Zerkel Will Attend Principals' Parley Hubert Zerkel, Jr., principal of Northwest elementary school, will be a participant in an elementary principals conference scheduled for the Ball State campus in Muncie April 24 and 25. Theme of the conference, which will be attended by some 40 elementary principals, will be "The role of the elementary school in the setting of a changing society.”
Principal speaker for the con-, ference will be Dr. Alexander Frazer, director of a center for school experimentation at Ohio State University. Driver Fined Here On Speeding Charge A fine was paid in justice of the peace court Tuesday evening by a traffic violator recently arrested by the city police on a speeding charge. Larry E. Wilcoxson, 20, Fort Wayne, paid a fine of $18.75 Tuesday night after pleading guilty to driving 55 miles per hour in a posted zone of 30 miles per hour. Wilcoxson was arrested by the city police department early Sunday morning no 13th street.
