Two Young Geniuses Held For Burglaries MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (UPD—Two “teen-aged geniuses’’ .were held at the Macomb County Youth Home today pending a hearing on charges of committing 28 burglaries to get equipment for their scientific experiments. The boys readily admitted stealin supplies from their school and a dentist’s office so they could build telescopes, take pictures of the moon and stars with a home’made camera and shoot off homemade rockets. The boys, 14 and 15. were too young for the regular science classes in St. Clair Shores High School where they attended the ninth grade. The boys’ fathers, a postal worker and a factory worker, encouraged their scientific interests with as many gifts as they could afford. “They were just going too fast for their parents to keep up with,” authorities said. “The parents never suspected what the boys were up to.” The boys broke into the St. Clair Shores School 27 times since last October, taking at least $3,000 worth of- projectors, test tubes, atid from fire extinguishers and chemicals. A week ago, they broke into a dentist’s office and took pressure gauges, bottles and X-ray equipment. In the process they took $785 in cash, the first cash they had ever taken, in order to buy more scientific equipment.
