STORK SHOWER HONORS MRS. KENNETH HAWKINS Mrs. Kenneth Hawkins and baby Elizabeth Ann of near Monroe, were guests of honor at a stork shower held Tuesday evening at the Elisha Merriman home. Hostesses for the evening were Miss Marcia Merriman and Miss Ruth Sipe. Upon her arrival, Mrsu Hawkins was presented with a novel rcorsage of ruffled lace rubber baby pants and a small doll. The honored guests were seated near a baby bassinet that was laden with gifts from those in attendance. Pink and white streamers led from the ceiling to the bassinet, which was surrounded with stuffed toys. During the course of the evening, games were played and the winners, Mrs. Dan Ross, Mrs. Jim : Fisher, Mrs. David Roop, and Miss Inez Merriman, presented their gifts to Mrs. Hawkins. At the close of the evening, refreshments of ice cream-cake roll, punch, and nuts and mints were served to the Mesdames James Fisher, Amos Miller, Jr., Dan Ross, Bob Amstutz, Phillip Barger, Clyde Hamrick, John Sipe, Elisha

PAMELA OGG CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY SATURDAY The fourth (birthday anniversary of little Miss Pamela Kay Ogg was celebrated Saturday at the home es her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ogg. Games were played by the young guests in attendance, after which refreshments were served by the hostess. A large birthday cake decorated the serving table. Attending the celebration were Miss Cindy Johnson, Colen Johnson, Miss Debbie Mcßride, Miss Scherri Mcßride, Miss Vickie McBride, Jeffery Harvey, Miss Cindy Ogg, Mike Ogg and Miss Janice Rawley. Also in attendance were Mrs. Palmer Johnson, Mrs. Stanley Mcßride. Mrs. Richard Harvey and Mrs. Winston Rawley, grandmother of the of honor. Mrs. Woodson Ogg, another grandmother, and Mark Harvey were unable to attend.
MRS. LOWELL HARPER IS MONDAY HOSTESS Mrs. Lowell Harper was hostess Monday evening to eighteen members of the Literature department of Woman's club. Mrs. Charles Langston reviewed the book, "My Arabian Days and Nights,” by Dr. Eleanor T. Calverley, a medical missionary. Dr. Calverley described the dress and customs of the Arabian women who came as patients to her hospital and she stated that no civilization can rise above the Arabian status of women. i Mrs. George returned recently from a -three months stay in Arizona, presented a paper entitled, "Frontier Days of Arizona.” She depicted Arizona as a land of contrast and color and a cosmopolitian place. She told of 1 the Navajo, Hopi, and Apache Indians and the silver and gold discovered there. During the business meeting. Mrs. Ed Cook was in charge. A contribution was given to the ’ Indiana Federation of Woman’s club for a Lincoln sesquicentennial memorial. ! The hostess, assisted by Mrs. ’ Campell, Mrs. Buckley, and Mrs. Langston, served refreshments at the close of the meeting. < The Pythian Sisters Needle club will meet following the Temple meeting Monday.

Following the wedding ceremony, the immediate families of the bride and bridegroom, were | guests at a reception held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gase. The table was covered with a white tablecloth and centered with a three layer wedding cake. A graduate of Decatur high school, the bride is employed as a secretary in the offices of Hubert R. McClenahan, attorney. The j bridegroom graduated from Hoagland high school and is now emi ployed by the North American Van Lines company at Fort Wayne. Mr.’ and Mrs. George Rothgeb, Jr., are now making their home in Hoagland. Members of the Rose Garden club will meet Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of Mrs. • Walter Burcher, with Mrs. Harry J Hebble assisting the hostess. Mrs. Grover Levy will give the lesson. Guild Sponsors Bridal Pageant
’ Miss Eloise Aumann looks like a queen and rightfully so in this beautifully flowing gown which is an exact copy of the gown worn by Queen Elizabeth of England for her marriage to Prince Phillip in 1947. The gown Miss AumaHn is showing was worn by her sister, Alvina, when she became the bride of Harold Sauer. Guests at the bridal pageant to be presented by members of the Valpo Guild at the St. John’s auditorium Sunday, will be able to see this gown close-up and many more besides. Looking forward to a large attendance, the members of the committee have planned for two showings of the bridal creations which will date back almost a hundred years. The shows will begin at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and 8 o’clock that night. The pageant will begin with a gown from 1866 and conclude with a 1959 wedding party. Mrs. Herman Bleeke, along with her com,mittee consisting of the Mesdames Arthur Grewe, Arolph Dietrich, and Lloyd Bowman, will be in charge of the models and the properties the brides will use. The program committee who will provide a resume of the pageant, includes Mrs. Don Burke, Mrs. Lawrence Steele, and Mrs. Edgar Krueckeberg. Ticket chairman, Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg and Mrs. Wade Tyler, are supplying members of the Guild with additional tickets and those who wish to attend are asked to buy their tickets as soon as possible from any Guild member. JBiurfc At the Adams county memorial' hospital: Lowell and Neva Riley Noll of route 6, are the parents of a seven i pound, 10 ounce boy born at 5:02 p.m. Tuesday. A seven pound, seven and one half ounce boy was born at 8:37 a.m. today to Carl and Bonnie Sines Hamilton of route 2. <
