The last Monday of our Lord’s earthly life was a day of liberty, when He felt free to speak the in- ’ most thoughts of His heart. It was . a day of instructions. On this day ! He went into the Temple and cast I out the thieving money-changers, and pled for the "House of Prayi er.” ■ Tuesday—The day of controverl sy. On this day our Lord poured ■ forth an indignant condemnation upon the Pharisees; gave us the ■ Great Commandment; watched ' the widow make her sacrificial ofsering; and saw the Greeks, who came looking for Him. and. behind them, an innumerable multitude flocking to His standard. Wednesday—The day of retirement. We have no record of this day’s activities other than it was spent with friends at Bethany. It was a day of recuperation when He could recover His spiritual poise. What a benediction it must have been to His friends! 6 p.m. Westminster choir practice. 7 p.m. chancel choir practice. Thursday—the day of fellowship. On this day Jesus gathered the twelve in that “Upper Room” to keep the Passover. It was a day of fine fellowship, albeit overcast by the shadow of Judas’ crime. Jesus washed the disciples feet thereby leaving us an example of lowly service. He also founded that, sublime sacrament, “The Lord s Supper.” He gave His “Farewell” message, and uttered that wonderful intercessory prayer, in which. He prayed for all who ever follow Him. Beloved, we share today in that prayer! 7 p.m., the session will meet to receive new members. 8 p.m., communion. Good Friday—the day of buffering.
