Carmel Man Appointed State Revenue Head INDIANAPOLIS (UPI) - John Morris. Carmel farmer and banker, will be sworn in as the new director of the State Revenue Department along with two new Appellate Court Judges Monday. Governor Handley appointed Morris Thursday to succeed Edwin Beaman, who recently was named Handley's administrative assistant. Morris served two terms as Hamilton County treasurer, and for the past two years was chief cashier of the State Revenue department * Flood Control Bill Sumifted In House WASHINGTON (UPI) — Rep. Fred Wampler (D-Ind.) introduced a House bill Thursday to allow Indiana and Illinois to jointly plan flood control and development of Wabash River valley water resources.
