School Reporter upper six grade*. -A.C.H.S.“Sunshine Tag Day" was observed, for the second time this year, Wednesday. The Sunshine Society giSiried their tag day last Friday but did not do so good with all the absentees. Money collected Friday amounted to $lB. Funds that the girls gather will be sent to the Riley hospital in Indianapolis. —A.C.H.S.— Central's FFA boys will attend, a swimming party at the Y.M.C.A. in Fort Wayne Tuesday evening, March 1?. The chapter will go by bus; and, after swimming, they will “feast” at the Hobby House.' Approximately 35 members and their instructor, Martin Watson, will be attending the party. annually by the national world rural life conference and the 4-H clubs, was presented by Father Edward Roswag, Fort Wayne diocesan director of the rural life, to Kohne for combining the pursuit at farming with Christian living. An outstanding 4-H’er for many years, Kohne Is the first Adams county recipient of this award. Congratulations, Joe! — D. C. H. S._ — Before the presentation was made a film entitled “Let’s Plan a 4-H Tour” was shown to those assembled fallowed by a short talk from Leo Seltenright, county extension agent. Father Robert Content was master of cermonies.

Congratulations, Steve- Steve Sutton, a senior at D.C.H.S., came out “on top” in the first round of the Knights of Columbus annual oratorical contest. Speaking on the topic, “Patriotism Is a Moral Duty,” Steve won over Robert Murphy, also a senior. Steve is now eligible to complete in the regional con jest to be held: at Huntington later. — — D. C. S. — “Et te, Brute!” Struggling are the 15 Latin II students who are tackling the "Adventures of Caesar.” While finding Caesar’s word order a bit topsy turvey and difficult, most of the students are eriioying the adventure. - D. S. — March Is, the feast of St. Joseph, is our pastor’s name day. In previous years it was customary for the students of the Catholic schools to honor the Very Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz with a playlet of operetta in Ids honor. This year, however, the students will take it upon themselves to offer a monetary gift as well as a spiritual bouquet composed of masses, holy communions, rosaries and sacrifices. — D. C. H. S. — - Thursday, March 5, a total of 19 D.C.H.S. students 15 in one. group and four in the other, participated iin two nation-wide tests the national mathematical test and a test on the United Nations. Since that time, the tests have been scored to determine which shall be sent in to contest headquarters to represent Decatur Catholic. Top scorers in the mathematics test were Gerald Gillig, Dolores Kohne. and Michael Ehler, followed closely by David

Schulte, Tom Mills, and Robert Murphy. In the U.N. test, the tests of Kathleen Kohne and Dolores.Kohne, having been the highest, were sent to the American association for the United Nations. — D. C.
