stopped for breakfast about 7:30 and 1, arrived at the state house about 10:45. We visited the supreme court, the governor’s office, and the senate and ijpusg.. About 11:45 the group was dismissed. -D.H.S.— Part of the seniors took a tour of the musical center. They ate dinner there and spent an interesting two hours. The remaining seniors visited the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial in the circle, and just toured the city. We arrived back in Decatur about 8 o’clock, tired, but happy we were able to visit the capital. v

Congratulations to Karen Grice. She won an excellent rating in the music contest held last week. We are happy to have D.H.S. well represented. —D.H.S.— Friday night is the last basketball game of the season for the Jackets. This is a home game and we will be playing host to Winchester. Good luck Jackets! —D.H.S.— Attention all members of the cheering bloc! Be on the look out for any information leading to the time, place, and date of the big pep rally coming week. The Decatur cheering bloc will certainly be doing its best to represent Decatur at sectional; the pep rany is the first step.

homemaker of tomorrow.” — M. H. S. — Last Saturday night, the Eagles met the Monroeville Cubs of Allen county on our home floor. Even though the Eagles were defeated they put up a very good battle and are to be commended. — M. H. S. — Also last Saturday night, our high school band gave a marching exhabition at half time. Very nice, kids; your show was very good. — M. H. S. — Last Tuesday morning, Louis Mcßride, “the man of a thousand mysteries,” presented a very humorous and interesting 55 minutes of entertainment. The faculty and student body of M.H.S. wish to thank those who made possible this great exhabition of “slight of hand”

talent. — M. H. S. - Our junior high boys have been doing quite well In basketball. In fact they have been showing Improvement during the past games. Their win from Hartford last Tuesday gives them a record of six victories and six defeats. — M. H. S. — —• L _ Donald Brown, an eighth grader here, seems to be the scoring machine of. the team., He has scored 161 points in 11 games which gives him the very respectable average of 14.6 points per game. — M. H. S. - Wednesday morning, the Rev. Herman E. Settlage presented a very interesting and inspiring message to the student tody at the chapel service. We wish to thank him for speaking to us. — M. H. S. -» This coming Saturday, all the music students who were in classes one to three and won superior ratings as the district contests during the past three weeks will have the opportunity to participate in the state I. S. — Last Friday the seniors visited the city lock-up in Fort Wayne Bob Cruse, government instructor at Monroeville, accompanied them. They viewed a regular court trial, which was being held at that time. Indeed, it was an exciting and eduational experience for all! — M. H. S. — “Our Town”, the senior play which was to be presented Wednesday—and Thursday of this week, has been rescheduled to next Monday and Tuesday, February 23 and 24. Tickets are on sale at 50 cents each at the Monroeville school. — M. H. S. — Tom Jackson, a senior, was awarded a superior rating in the Northern Indiana school band orchestra & vocal association contest. “Pan's Revels,” by Ernest Glover, was the number he selected to play. — P. M. H. S. — The Pleasant Mills Spartans lost last Friday night to the Arcola Aces, 62-51, on the Pleasant Mills court. Dwight Brunner of the Spartans was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points and Jack Butler had 13. Kurtz scored for Arcola with 16 points. Rogeii Snyder was unable to play on acount of an ankle injury. — P. M. H. S. — The Spartans team won their second tall game with Arcola last Friday night. The Spartans ■won by one point, 26-25.
