Better Highway Service Studied * BLOOMINGTON — A study aimed al providing a better highway service for each tax dollar has been undertaken in Adams and 21 Other Hoosier counties by the Indiana University bureau of government research. Immediate objective of the project is to determine the means by which cost accounting can be applied to county highway operations. By establishing a system of records which reveals accurate cost figures, the research team, in cooperation with the local county commissioner, road supervisor and bookkeeper, hopes to: “Improve prediction of future tax qeeds; assist preparation of construction and maintenance budgets, and to improve highway management practices generally.”
