Switzerland Men Reject Woman Vote BERN Switzerland (UPI) —*The men of Switzerland decided Sunday, 654,924 to 323.306, that woman's place is in the home —not in the voting booth. By that vote, the men who are Swf-zerland's only legal voters turned down a government proposal which would have given women the vote in federal elections. Similar local propositions have been rejected repeatedly. If you have something to sell or rooms for rent, try a Democrat Want Ad — They bring results.

Annual Report Given On Slate Toll Road Road Income Fails _ To Pay Off Interest INDIANAPOLIS < UPl)—Despite the fact that income from tolls was higher than 1957, the revenue in 1958 was not great enough to pay the" $9,800,000 annual interest on bonds soldrto pay for construction of the Northern Indiana Toll Road. The Indiana Toll Road Commission issued its annual report today showing that tolls revenue totaled $9,554,982. Service stations, restaurants and other concessions added $1,903,300 income, but the total revenue of $11,685,757 was not enough to pay operating expenses of $3,341,025 and the annual interest. After operating expenses, the 1958 income still was $1,455,268 short of meeting interest on the bonds. But, the commission said, all interest payments were met, nevertheless, out of operating revenue accumulated during the period of interest capitalization. The annual report was subnutted to Governor Handley and the Indiana Legislature. On the bright side, it showed that the 1958 revenue was up $1,584,141, or 13.5 per cent over 1957, including a 38 per cent increase in commercial revenues from truck and bus traffic. Toll charges recently were increased. Statistically, 9,592,196 motorists used the superhighway and traveled a total of more than 588 million miles over it. » Evidence that many trucks are using free highways when crossing the upstate area was shown in the commission’s report that the biggest day for truck traffic was last Feb. 18. when a blizzard closed most highways and forced the trucks to the superhighway which remained open. The truck count that day was 4.087, and the revenue more than $15,000. Nevertheless, the increase in truck traffic over the past two years has been steady while passenger car traffic fluctuated. The 5 average daily truck-bus count was 1,744 in January, 1957. From February, 1957, through June, 1958, it steadily increased from 2,011 to 2,996. In July, 1958 it passed the 3,000 mark and reached a peak of 3,700 in October. The average daily truck count in 1958 was 2,984 compared with 2,400 in 1957, and the average passenger car count was 23,170 compared with 20,890. OVER 100 BOWER JEWELRY STORE J>ecatur „ Indiana
