The mishap, which occurred at 9:30 o'clock, was considered by the investigating officers as minor since the driver escaped without injur-, ies and the damage which occurred was slight. J The state police and the sheriff's department stated today that the accident involved a semi-truck driven by William, T. McDonald. 43, Cincinnati, 0., which was headed north towaijf Fort Wayne on U. S. 27, approximately three and w ._
a half miles north of Detfatur. The one-vehicle mishap occurred when the wind caught the cab of the semi-truck and forced the vehicle to jack-knife on the highway near the left side of the road. A I local wrecker service was called to straighten the vehicle back to its normal position. Bluffton Firm Buys Plant In Florida Household Gas Co. Purchase. Announced ;, Roger Isch of Bluffton, president > of Petroleum Securities Corporai tion, has announced the purchase of the Household Gas company of
Miami. Florida. The purchase price was in excess of $750,000. _ The purchase was made through the subsidiary, Florida - Gulf Stream Gas Corporation. A second firm owned by the Bluffton corporation. Gulf Stream Natural Gas company, will operate the liquified gas pipe distribution system serving Northern Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Included in the purchase was a franchise for the city of Margate, Florida. Isch, president of Petroleum Se- 1

A group of interested Adams county people inspected the proposed plant purchase last month at Miami. Among those from Decatur were Clark Srhith, Joe Kaehr, and Lewis Smith. Petroleum Securities is an affiliate of Blue Flame Gas Corporation of Bluffton and wholly owns seven other Blue Flame bcrporations in Indiana and Ohio. Liquified petroleum gas bulk plants are maintained by each subsidiary for servicing the operating area. The Florida acquisition just, made is the first pipeline system to be acquired by the company. Isch also announced that three other bulk plants are expected to be purchased within the next 90 days in Ohio. This now gives the overall corporate operation markets in three states: Indiana, Ohio and Florida. Negotiations are under way for the purchase of additional facilities in Kentucky. Garage, Warehouse Destroyed By Fire _ WESTPORT. Ind. (UPD — The Decatur Garage and a nearby warehouse containing lumber were destroyed by fire early today. The loss also included several trucks. State Police reported. City Mail Carrier Receiving Treatment Harold Thieme, city mail carrier, hospitalized early Wednesday morning after falling on the ice while delivering mail, is reported receiving treatment for a bruise to his right knee. Thieme slipped on the ice at 8:30 Wednesday morning at 409 Jefferson street, near the Decatur high school, and was taken to the Adams county memorial hospital for treatment. X-rays taken today showed that no bones were broken, but that a bruise to his right knee occurred. It was also reported that the knee was injured before and that it is rather sensitive. Thieme is expected to be released .from the hospital within the; next day or two. Trade in a good town — Decatur.
