V.F.W. AUXILIARY MEETING IS HELD RECENTLY AT HOME An Auxiliary meeting of members of the V.F.W. was held' recently with 15 members present. Being a business meeting, reports * on membership were given and it was learned that only a few more members are needed to make the goal The national V.F.W. auxiliary president will make her official visit to Indiana March 14 and 15 and will speak in Indianapolis. Mrs. Clarence Hook received the door prize, after which Mrs. Ray Ballard served refreshments to those attending. TWENTY nine attend par IOTA XI MEETING Tuesday evening, 29 members attended the Psi lota Xi business and social meeting held at the home of Mrs. Floyd Reed. President, Mrs. Paul Moore, presided over the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were rea d by Miss Luanrie Lehman and Mrs. Richards Parrish gave the treasurer’s report. Mrs. Fred I?ch, corresponding secretary, received a thank you note from Mrs. Robert White, the inspectress who met with the group November 19. Letters were also received from the chairman of the March of Dimes and the symphony maintanance fund requesting donations. Mrs. Reed gave a report on the Christmas card sales and Miss Rosemary Gase, Miss Judy Smith, and Mrs. Ray Fager were appointed the January committee to take a treat td tfie 29 members of the county home. The business meeting was then closed with the closing verse and the social part of the evening was turned over to Mrs. Dick D. Heller, Jr„ and Mrs. Lawrence R. Hutker and their committee, Miss Ruth Wiegman, Mrs. Raymond Lehman, and Mrs. David C. Embler. Chet Longenberger, of the Decatur Music House, presented a program on stereophonic sound-. Members of the Decatur Home Demonstration club will meet Tuesday, at 2 o'clock at the CLL. ot C. hall. The Kum Join Us class of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church will have a class party Tuesday at 7:30 o’clock at the church. Monday at 6:15 o’clock, members of the Pythian Sunshine Girls will meet at the Moose home. Mrs. Emmett Anderson will be hostess to members of the Union Chapel Women’s Society of World Service Thursday at 7:30 o’clock. Miss Freida Williamson will be the leader. , Tuesday at 1:30 o’clock, members of the Decatur Women’s Christian Temperance Union will meet at the h o m e of Mrs. Jess Niblick. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Gerald and Arlene Miller Miller of New Corydon, are parents of a seven potind, 10 ounce girl born at 12:50 a.m. today.

Pledge of allegiance and the Brownie promise were said. Roll call and dues were taken and the girls finished their puppets. The meeting was dismissed with the singing of “Good Night Brownies." Brownie troop 269 met recently, at which time the Girl Scout laws and promise were studied. Linda Mclntosh read a letter from Mrs. Collier thanking the troop for the plant which was sent to her. Games were played and Linda Garwood served the treat. Judy Krick wilt bring the treat next week. New ifficers are Cassie Reynolds, scribe Linda Mclntosh, president, and Peggy Smith, secretary.
