Miss Lucille Kunz V/ed Recently To Eugene L. Meyer Miss Lucille Helen Kunz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Kunz of Hollis. New York, recently became the bride of Eugene L. Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard T. Meyer of Decatur. Hie double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Vincent A. Keane at the St. Pascal Catholic church. The dinner and reception followed at Antuns restaurant in the patip room. Hie bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a chantilly lace and ivory satin gown with a pearl embroidered sabrina neckline, chantilly lace bodice, and flared skirt with a chapel train. A crown of pearls held her fingertip veil in place. She earned a bouquet of cymbjlium orchids. Mrs. James J. Meyer served her sister as matron of honor, wearing a gown of iridescent emerald green taffeta. Gowned similarly in

mint green were her bridesmaids, Mrs. Robert Attanasio of Brooklyn, New York, Miss Joan Kunz of Middle Village, New York, and Miss Doris Seibel of Maspeth, New York. AIL caried cascades of fall flowers in rust and gold. Edward R. Meyer of Chicago, 111., served his brother as bestman. Ushers were Gerard Kunz, James J. Meyer of Hollis, New York, and Raymond Sweeney of Philadelphia. The bride's mother wore an arcary Hue velvet sheath, while the groom’s mother wore a black sheath with rose accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of orchids. Meyer is a grauate of Decatur Catholic high school, DeVry Electronic Institute of Chicago and the Buroughs Electronic Institute of Philadelphia. He is now employed as a site technician with Burroughs Corporation. After spending their honeymoon in Bermuda, the new Mr. and Mrs. Meyer are making their home at 140 High street in Watertown, New

York. , The Hal Fields orchestra entertained' the guests at the reception. Those who atended the wedding from, Decatur were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard T. Meyer, daughter, Rose; Marie, and Miss Sue Holthouse. Mr. and Mrs. Norbert B. Meyer also attended from Fort Wayne. HERB BANNING HOME IS MEETING SCENE Thursday evening, the Herb ‘Banning home was the scene of the meeting of members of the Decatur Pinochle club. • The usual business was taken care of and Mrs. Banning served those who attended a dessert. Five games of pinochle were played and the prizes were won by Mrs. Banning, Mrs, Lawrence Kohne, and Mrs, Robert Ashbaucher. Mrs. Kohne also received the traveling prße. In February, the'club will meet with Mrs. Buford Dull in Wren, Ohio. Mrs. James Moses; Sr., was a guest at the recent club meeting. MRS. R. D. MEYERS GIVES DEVOTIONS AT MEETING Mrs. R. D. Meyers was devotional leader for the recent meeting of members of the Everready Sunday School class of the First Methodist church. The leader rea d a poem entitled “The Cross Was His Own,” and closed the devotions with a prayer. Mrs. Frank Crist directed the singing which opened the meeting. Presiding at the piano was Mrs. Fred Busche. Fifty four calls were reported by Mrs. Gail Bareg, president. Program chairman was Mrs. Ed ■Ahr and she introduced Mrs. David Owens, who showed pictures of her recent trip to Puorto Rico. She explained each picture as it was shown. The Rev. Hazen Sparks closed the meeting with a prayer and a lunch was served by Mrs Ed Ahr, Mrs. B. R. Farr and Mrs. Jesse Niblick. ■ '? .1 __The area men’s meeting will be held Thursday at the Decatur Church of Christ. All men who attend will hear Glen Hall, who will speak on the topic, “Luekwarmness.”

FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE CLUB MEETS AT KIMSEY SCHOOL _ Mrs. Lester Sipe, president of the Friendship Village Home Demonstration club of Blue Creek township, opened the meeting which was held Thursday at the Kimsey school. Mrs. Sipe led the group in repeating the club creed. The fifth chapter of second Corinthians was read by Mrs. Floyd Meyers for devotions, and this was followed with group singing led by Mrs. Norris Riley. A lesson on bettering mental health was presented by Mrs. Ivan Fox. The group was divided into three groups and discussed how to gain self confidence in ones self and how to accept other people. Mrs. Fox also was in charge of the health and safety lesson. — Roll call and minutes of the last meeting were given by Mrs. Carl Schug. Announcement was made that the home demonstration agent will give the lesson in September. Twenty six members and one guest, Mrs. Richard Ward, were present for the meeting. The group repeated the club collect foj dismissal and refreshments were served by Mrs. Harry Workinger, Mrs. Fred Freewalt, and Mrs. Fred A. Myers. Members of St. Anne’s study club will meet Thursday at 2 o’ clock with Mrs. Ben Eiting. The Xi Alpha lota exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi reports that its recently compiled cookbook of favorite recipes has proven very popular. Mrs. Robert Hess chairman of the ways and means committee of the chapter, is in charge of the sale of the books. Girl Scout leaders of Neighborhood 602 will meet Thursday from 1 until 3 o’clock in the Girl Scout room of the Community Center. There will be an investiture service for the new leaders. All leaders are urged to attend and are asked to be prompt. Past matrons and patrons night will be observed by the members of the order of the Eastern Star Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock in the Masonic hall. The past matrons and patrons will have charge of the initiatory work.

County Bond Soles Higher In December T. F. Graliker, chairman of the Adams county U. S. savings bonds committee, has received a report on December savings bonds sales revealing sales for the county of $83,799.84 compared with $83,451.83 for the corresponding period of 1957. The state’s savings bonds sales for the month were $13,321,544 and $1?,728, 492 or December 1957—a gain of 4.7 per cent. The national sales gain for the month was less than 1 pet cent. Fifty-four of Indiana's 92 counties registered sales gains for December over the sales of a year ago. Farming areas were strong in the sales figures. Auto Accident At Intersection Today A minor accident that occurred this morning at the intersection of Second and Monroe streets, was blamed on icy street conditions, according to one of the drivers involved. A car driven by David C. Embler, Jr., 21, Decatur, was struck by a car driven by Max W. Deutsch, 31, Youngstown, 0., at 11:10 a.m. today while stopped at the intersection for the traffic light change. Deutsch stated he was unrole to stop in time due to the heavy snow that had made the city streets icy, and struck the rear of the Embler auto.
