The meeting was opened with repeating of the opening ritual, after which Mrs. Art Burris presided dVer the usiness meeting. Plans were made for the mothers match on polio, which will be held January 30. All members of the sorority plan to help. JEROME KOHNE IS HOSTESS; TO MEMBERS Mrs. Jerome Kohne was hostess to members of the Dramatic section of the Woman’s club Monday evening. Chairman, Mrs. Reid Ereeson, opened the meeting and~urged all members to give blood on Wednesday. It was made known that any unexcused member of the Woman's club Will pay a fine of 25 cents if she is absent from any general meeting. ALL HISTORICAL CLUB OFFICERS ABE REELECTED Members answering roll call with a quotation opened the meeting of the Historical club Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Martin Worthman acted as hostess. The lesson was given by Mrs. James Borders and she chose as ] her topic, “Heyday of the Floating Palace.” She stated that small craft and canoes had been going down stream and it was thought impossible to go up stream until Fulton invented the steam engine 1 and proceeded up the Hudson. | Other phases of river life were disi cussed. A business session was held following Mrs. Borders talk and all officers for the past year were reelcted. Refreshments were served during the social hour. D.A.V. AUXILIARY AND - , JUNIORS HOLD MEETING D.A.V. Auxiliary members met at the D.A.V. halt lor a business meeting. Plans were made for the family pot luck supper which will be held February 13 at the ball. Mrs. Walter Sommers assisted the hostess in serving refreshments. _ THIRTEEN ATTEND I I AUXILIARY MEETING Thirteen members attended the business meeting held by the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary recently. A letter was read asking for blood donors and all members, are urged to give if possible. Members voted to give $5 to the polio fund and to purchese a vehicle for the state soldiers home at Lafatte. February 14, the group will have a silent auction. During the evening, games were played and Mrs. Clarence Hook was awarded the door prize. Sex Sadist Sought s In Woman's Murder Body Is Found In Back Seat Os Car ST. LOUIS. Mo. (UPD — Police today sought a sex sadist in the slaying of a young mother whose husband gave her a “night off’’ to attend a sorority party while he baby-sat. The body of Mrs. Charles E. Montague, 32, was found in the back scat of her car Wednesday. The car was parked in front of the home where Mrs. Montague, a former student at Washington University School of Journalism,, had attended the party Tuesday night. Montague, 34. told the authorities he had dozed off while sit-, ting with their two children, Charles, 10, and Linda, 9. and became alarmed when he awoke at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday and discovered his wife' had not returned from the party. A search was organized and Mrs. Montague’s mutilated corpse was foupd hours later by her brother, Donald" Jones. Officials from the coroner's office said Mrs. Montague, a socialworker, apparently had been strangled either with a chain or rope. The slaying occurred while dolice -were investigating anothercollege - connected mu rd er. St. Ijouis’ second itt less than a month. James Bullock, a night student at St. Louis University, was found shot to death and rim over by a car outside the city art museum several weeks ago. Bullock's pretty wife, a kinder-, garten teacher, and her former husband have both refused to take lie detector tests in the case. 18-Month-Old Boy Is Accident Victim SOUTH BEND. Ind. <UPD — Michael Vandermolen, 18 months old. Grand Rapids.
