A pot luck supper was served prior to the business meeting in the fellowship basement. | ■ Lee yzas chosen as president While Mrs. Elmer-Scott will handle the position of vice president. Mrs. Ralph Hawkins is the new secretary and treasurer. . Members decided to hold a party every two months with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hamrtiond serving as hosts tot February.) CHRISTMAS DINNER IS HELD AT ROBINSON HOME I Nineteen members of the Historj ical club attended the annual Christmas dinner which was held I Wednesday noon at the home of : Mrs. Blanche Robinson. Tables ■ were decorated with timely ap-j i pointments. Following the dinner, a short. business session was held. Names ■ were drawn for new secret pals and Mrs. Henry Adler read a story I entitled “A Christmas That Was Different.” A gift exchange was held during the afternoon. Members who were in charge of j : the party included the Mesdames : Homer Bittner, Clarence Smith, : Hem*y Adler, Martin Worthman. i j Cecil Gause, Herchel Nash, and t Fred Hancher. ! E.V.B. — 1 'j*! TRAIL RIDERS MEET AT HANNA-NUTTMAN PARK The Boy Scout cabin at HannaNuttmanfeark was the scene of the December meeting of the Limberlost Trail Riders. A pot luck dinner was served to those attending and the door prites w’ere arwarded to Miss Rhoa Tricker and Miss Cidy Srickler. Holiday treats were given to those who attended. Miss Debbie Smith showed colored slides of the annual trail ride which was held last October at Brown county state park. Plans were discussed for futile meetings and the trail rides to be held next summer. An election of | officers was held at which time. Dr. Elizabeth Peck was selected as president. First and second vice president respectively are Jim Schnepp and Kenny Worden. Mrs. Lucile Secaur is the seertary and treasurer. All members agreed to donate food items for a basket which will later be delivered to a needy person. Anyone in the Berne community wishing to join the organization, is asked to contact Kenny Worden. Decatur and area residents are asked to call Mrs. Secaur. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Worden will be in change of the January meeting. MRS. ADA LOWER IS HOSTESS TUESDAY Tuesday evening, the home of J Mrs. Ada Lower on North Second I street, was the scene of the annual i Christmas party held for members | of the Decatur Garden club. The meeting was opened with the club collect and followed with I a short business meeting presided ; over by Mrs. G. D. McLean, club president. Mrs. Gail Baughman ! then entertained the group with a Christmas story and played ChristI ma§ carols. j Mrs. Alma Frisinger was in ' charge of, the gift exchange and : used a novel idea for the distribu- ' tion. A lunch was then served by 1 the committee in charge.TWO GUESTS PRESENT FOR CIRCLE MEETING Members of the Pricilla Circle of the First Christian church met at the home of Mrs. Glenn Borchers Wednesday evening for a Christmas meeting. Two guests, Mrs. Edward Pacha and Mrs. William Burner, were present Circle leader, Mrs. Wiliam Baaman opened the meeting with a brief business session. The group, gathered around a glowing fire in the fireplace and a lighted Christ- J mas tree, heard devotions by the
hostess and a stpry, “Miracle At Christmas” by lesson leader, Mrs. Raymond Eloph. Then, while Mrs. Borchers, organist, played “Silent* Night,” Mrs. John Rosier read the origin of the immortal carol after which Mrs.' Bauman, pianist, and Mrs. Borders played ft duet of the Christmas hymn. Group singing of carols followed. For the dessert which closed the ’ evening, the serving table was ien- ■ hanced with red in crystal candelabra, crystal p u n c h bowl 1 and service, ■ seasonal napkins and 1 centerpiece and individual favors • of white Christmas angels.
