Funeral Saturday For Cyrus Liechty , Berne Barber Dies r ; At Local Hospital Funeral services will be held < Saturday afternoon for Cyrus Liechty, 64, well known Berne barl ber, who died shortly before noon ■ Wednesday at the Adams county i memorial. hospital. Mr. Liechty - suffered a stroke Monday night at his home, 418 Maple street in Berne, and never regained consciousness. He was born in Hartford township Feb. 9, 1894, a son of Amos and Rosetta and was married to Lucille Rose June 14. 1914. He was employed as a brakeman for the G. R. & I. railroad from 1916 until 1929, and had operated a barber shop in Berne sinte that time. Mr. Liechty was a member of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church in Berne. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Earl of Ossian. Vaughn and Bruce of Berne; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Rosalyn) Noll of Geneva route 1, and Mrs. Russell (Madonna) Hendricks of Geneva rouje 2; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Ervin of Oblong, Ill.; Milton and "Diurman of Fort Wayne, and Elmer E. of Berne, and six sisters, Mrs. Orville Stucky of Oblong, 111., Mrs. Minerva Kelly of Auburn. Mrs. Arthur Lehman of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Ermal Fisher of Zanesville, Mrs. Clarence Daily of Berne route 2, and Mrs. Eva Rietdorf of Fort Wayne. One sister is deceased. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Yager funeral home, the Rev. A. E. Givens officiating. Burial will be in the MRE cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Presbyterian Pastor Moves To New Manse The Rev. Harold J. Bond, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and his family moved Monday to the former Charles Langston home, 127 Portaj Vista, which the church purchased recently as' a manse for the minister's family. The former manse, adjacent to the church on Mercer avenge, will be utilized for Sunday school class rooms for the present. COURT NEWS Divorce Cases On motion by the plaintiff, the case of Ivan A. Duff vs Juanita L. Duff was dismissed. The petition filM by Audrey Raudenbush for failure to comply with a former order of the court, was taken under advisement by the court. Complaint Cases An appearance for the defendant was entered by counsel in the case of Ben Kerns and Henrietta Kerns vs Ernest Haviland. TTie case of Lisle Wendel vs Dwight Davis and Paul Davis, was taken under advisement by the court. The Secured Insurance company and Ben Kerns vs Ernest Haviland an appearance for the defendant was entered by his counsel. Tn the case of Ben Kerns, as administrator of the estate of Aubrey Leo Kerns, vs Ernest Haviland, the counsel for the defendant entered an appearance. • Estate Cases The inheritance tax appraiser's report was filed in the Edward R. Anderson estate. A notice was ordered issued returnable December 31. The proof of mailing of notice of appointment was filed in the Clara A. Miller estate. The final report was submitted. The supplemental report and petition for discharge was filed. Sureties were released and the estate closed. The report of sale of real estate was filed in the estate of Fred M Engle. The deed was ordered issued upon full payment of purchase price.
