Dianne Fulton Is Wed Thanksgiving To Max E. Elzey Miss Dianne Kay Fulton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oral Futton of 1021 Master Drive, and Max Elzey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Elzey of route 3, repeated double rtn# vows last evening before the Rev. Stuart Brightwell of the First Baptist church. The rites were spoken in front of an altar graced with flowers and candleabras. White kneeling pillows were used as the Lord’s Prayer was sung. Mrs. Lloyd Roth and Mrs. Stuart Brightwell provided background music of organ and vocal music, respectively. Included in the vocals were “Because,” and “Oh Promise Me.” The bride, whp was escorted down the white carpeted aisle marked with green bows, by her father, selected a floor length gown of chantilly lace over taffeta. Flowerlettes of Venice lace outlined the scoop neckline of the molded bodice and long fitted sleeves tapered- to points over her hands. H er very bouffant skirt of lace was highlighted by a deep flounce of tulle. Her fingertip veil of French illusion was lightly attached to a feather cap studded with pearls. A white orchid on top of a white Bible made up her bridal bouquet. Attending her sister as maid of honor, was Miss Bonnie pulton. She wore a waltz length gown pf kelly green taffeta which featured a scoop neckline and a fjowjflg bow in the back. Miss Linda Fulton, youngest sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid in a gown identical to that of the honor attendant. She wore a matching headpiece and carried bronze mums. Dons Mentor served as the best man, and William Bauman was the groomsman. Tom Fulton, brother of the bride, and Richard Elzey, brother of the bridegroom, seated the guests. A navy sheath dress with navy and winter white accessories were worn by Mrs. Fulton. The bridegrooms mother chose a black dress with black and winter white accessories. Both mothers wore rose corsages. The church parlor was the scene of the reception held immediately following the ceremony. One hundred and eighty guests were greeted by the newlyweds. Hie serving table was decorated in mint green and white and topped with a square wedding cake adorned with yellow roses. The flowers used during the ceremony, completed the decorations. Servers included the Misses Donna Miller. Beverly Thieme, and Mrs. William Bauman and Mrs. Wilmar Fuelling. Gift registers were Gertrude Taylor and Carolyn Drake. For a short wedding trip, the new Mrs. Elzey changed Into a checked two piece brown jersey dress with matching accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. the brtd? graduated from Decatur high school this spring and is as a dental assistant. MRS. JOHN LEYSE OPENS CLUB MEETING Mrs. John Leyse led the members of the Kirkland Ladies club in singing "For the Beauty of the Earth,’” to open their ' meeting which was held Monday evening. Mrs. Floyd Stoneburner led the devotions, after which roll call was taken with members telling of something for which they were thankful. Minutes of the last meetihg were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given by Mrs. Edgar Zimmerman. The next meeting was changed to December 8. Mrs. Robert Kershner reported on the Fort Wayne trip and Mrs. Albert Beineke gave the lesson on mental health. '’Four Great Enemies of Time” was read by Mrs. Dortha Shady, and Mrs. John Barger showed different pictures of members which were taken at the last meeting. Announcement was made that the officer’s training school will be held December 8. During the course of the evening," several members received gifts from secret pals and the door prize was won by the guest, Mrs. Donald Hirschy. The meeting was closed with the Lord’s Prayer, after I which refreshments were served |by Mrs. Floyd Stoneburner, Mrs. August Schlickman, and Mrs. Earl -Martin. DECATUR FIREMEN ARE SERVED DINNER The annual Thanksgiving supper of the Decatur firemen was held i at the Decatur fire station recent ly, for firemen and their wives. A carry-in supper was served, followed by a program consisting oi a ballet number by Misses Sandra Susan, and Saran Singleton, and a tap dance by Misses Judy Koos. A short business meeting was held with Mrs. William Lose, Jr. in charge. She announced that the Christmas party will be held Tuesday, December 23 at 8 o’clock. There will be a one dollar gift exchange. During an election of officers, Mrs. George Tricker was elected as president and Mrs. Joseph Schultz, vice president. Mrs. James Lose and Mrs. Harold Baker are the two secretaries. New treasurer is Mrs. Leo Alberding, and Mrs. William Lose, Jr., is the trustee. 1 Following the meeting, the members were entertained by Charles Kent, who showed and explained his very unusual rock collection, j The next monthly card party will be held December 10 at 8 o'clock with Mrs. William Kohne, Mrs. I William Berling and Mrs. Herman Miller in charge of the activities. Demonstration club members. Hostesses were Mrs. Louis Fuhrman and Mrs. Orley Barkley. Mrs. Ervin Buuck called the meeting to order by repeating the club prayer. The song of the month was sung by the members, after which Mrs. William Kruetzman gave its history. Roll call was answered by 17 members and one guest. Plans were made for the Christmas meeting which will be held December 15, with a potluck supper at 6 o'clock. "Happy Birthday” was sung for Mrs. Fenner and an installation of officers was bonducted by Miss Lois Folk. Mrs. Orley Barkley presented the devotions and Mrs. Marvin Conrad and Mr. Robert Bury were in charge of the lesson on mental health. ■Prizes were won by Mrs. Richard Scheuman and Mrs. Arthur Koeneman. RURAL PTA MEETS MONDAY AT SCHOOL The Pleasant Mills PTA meeting was held Monday evening in the music room at the school. Rev. Purdy, from the Wren E.U.B. church led the devotions which centered around Thanksgiving. Miss Kathy Brunstrup sang "You'll Never Walk Alone” accompanied by Carolyn Luginbill at the piano. The boys’ trio, Kenney Wagner, Jerry Wagner, and Ronnie Mefferd, sang “Jesus and Me” with Mrs. Helen Ehrsman at the piano. The president, Mrs. Jim Smith, presided during the business meeting and a welcome was extended to the new principal, Gerald Vizards At the close of the meeting, refreshments were served by Mrs. Charles Morrison, Mrs. Marion Michaels, Mrs. John Johnson, Mrs. Kenneth Ohler, and Mrs. Zelma Buettner. MRS. GLEN MAULLER IS HOSTESS TUESDAY Mrs. Glen Mauller entertained members of Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at her home Tuesday evening. Mrs. Vernon Custer, president, presided over the business meeting, after which time the meeting was turned over to the program chairman, Mrs. Glenn Hill, who conducted a round table discussion on service activities. Tuesday, Delta Lambda and Xi I Alpha Xi chapters of Beta Sigma Phi will hold their Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Glenn Hill. Mrs. Clarence Ziner, chairman. - will be assisted by Mrs. George Bair, Mrs. Eugene Ziner, and Mrs. Joseph Morris. A carry-in supper will be served ‘o members of the Adams County Roadside Council Tuesday at 6 o'clock. The supper will be at the lome of Mrs. John Floyd and nembers are to bring table service and\a contribution of clothing for good will. Women's Society of Christian Service members of the Monroe Methodist church will meet Thursday at 7:25 in the church annex for a regular meeting and a fifty-cent gift exchange. Members are to bring a white elephant offering. The Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa will meet at the home of Miss Fiances Dugan Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock for a Christmas party and pot luck supper. Members are to bring a joke gift and table service. The home nursing classes of Berne and Decatur will hold a car-ry-in luncheon at the Co-Op buildng in Monroe Thursday at 12 o’clock. Naomi Kirchhofer Thanksgiving Bride Os Raymond Becher An autumn motif was used for the candlelight service which was performed Thanksgiving evening in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church for the marriage of Miss Naomi Ruth Kirchhofer to Raymond Becher, Jr., with the [ Rev. of route 2, are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Raymond Becher and the late Raymond Becher of route 2. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a ballerina length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle. The bodice was fashioned with a Sabrina neckline and long tapered sleeves which came to points over her wrists. The bouffant skirt flowed in princess lines from the fitted bodice and was designed with alternate rows of lace and tulle. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to a lace hat and she carried an arrangement of white stephanotis and a white orchid atop a Bible. Mrs. Kent Koons, sister of the bride and matron of honor, and Miss Marjorie Becher, bridesmaid and sister of the bridegroom, were gowned in identical dresses of beige brocaded taffeta. Styled in a sheath fashion, the gowns were topped with brown net overshirts. To complete their ensembles, they wore beige headbands with shoulder length veils and carried bouquets of bronze and gold chrysanthemums. Attending his brother as best man was Norman Lee Becher. Guests were seated by Hugh Ehrman, Lester Haines and Paul Longsworth. For her d a u g h t e r’s wedding Mrs. Kirchhofer selected a blue dress with dark accessories and a corsage of white baby mums. Mrs. Becher appeared in a dior dress with dark accessories and a corsage of white baby mums. Following the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mfs. Becher greeted 115 guests in the church parlor. Gold floating mums and bittersweet candles adorned the serving table which was centered with a three tier wedding cake featuring a minature briae and bride-

groom on top. Mrs. Martin Lehman, Mrs. Don Arnold, Mrs. Gary Woliver,. all of Fort Wayne, Miss Nancy Lung of Butler, and Miss Susan Longsworth assisted in the serving. For a southern honeymoon, Mrs. Becher changed to a rust colored wool Jersey sheath dress. She wore black accessories with her ensemble. A graduate of Monmouth high school and Warner Beauty College, the bride is employed by Letha’s beauty house in Fort Wayne. Becher graduatede from Adams Central high school and is engaged in farming.
