Madison Wins Sixth In Row Tuesday Night INDIANAPOLIS (UPD—Downstaters Madison, Winslow, New Albany and once-beaten Huntingburg put in a bid today for earlyseason recognition in Indiana high school basketball. And Franklin is making some noise in the South Central district. While some perennial cage powers still have to open their seasons, Madison and Winslow have already won 10 games between them without a blemish. Madison made it six in a row at Batesville Tuesday night, 88-52, 'with three players hitting in double figures. Winslow, for years jone of the tough small-town teams 'in the southern sector, made j Boonville of the Southern Confer- ' ence its fourth straight victim, ! 70-62:' I, ; New Albany made it two in a I row and copped its SIAC opener !at Bedford. 54-53. Scottsburg, winner only once in its first four starts, unloaded a 54-50 Southeastern Conference decision on Salem. Jeffersonville served notice it’ll be a power to reckon with in SCC warfare by rushing past Paoli in its opener, 90-52. Richmond Wins North Central Conference clubs Anderson and Richmond had too much class for their foes. Anderson extended its record to 3-0 with a 55-46 victory at Connersville. Richmond used 13 players and blasted Liberty in its opener. 62-39. To give the “road” boys additional prestige, Bloomington’s Panthers won their opener at Columbus, 58-39, as 6-6 Mickey Reeves pumped in 23 points. And Terre Haute Schulte spoiled Brazil's home debut, 71-56. In the far north, South Bend Adams edged Gary Wallace, 46-43, despite a 20-point spree by Don Slys. It was Adams’ second straight win. Gary Mann led at the first three stops but Crown Point connected from the charity stripe in the final period to beat the Horsemen, 47-41. : Don Petty scored 20 on 10 baskets to live East Chicago Roosevelt a 63-47 triumph over Mishawaka. Michigan Man Dies In Crash Near Peru PERU, Ind. (UPD—Frank E. Davidson, 71. Shelby, Mich., was killed Tuesday when his car hit a retaining wall on U.S. 31 north of Peru at a point called “Dead man's Curve.” Davidson’s wife, Nellie, 69, was taken to Dukes Memorial Hospital j for treatment of injuries. Two Minor Mishaps Reported By Police ; Two minor mishaps occurred within the city Tuesday causing only slight property damage to the four autos involved. A car driven by Lewis L. Sheets. 30, route five, Decatur, while pulling away from a parking space on Second street, struck the rear of a car driven by Lloyd E. Reynolds, 38, also of Decatur, at 11 o’clock last night. Damage to the Sheets car was estimated at $75 and $2 damage to the Reynolds auto. An accident occurring earlier at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon on Adams street involved two autos. A parked auto owned by the Schwartz Ford company was struck by a car driven by Francis Grim, 50, route six, Decatur, while Grim was headed east on Adams street. Damage to the Schwartz vehicle was given at sls and $lO to the Grim auto. The city polled department investigated both mishaps.

Minor Accident Is Reported Tuesday A minor accident at the intersection of 13th and Adams streets occurred Tuesday at 11:20 a. m. involving a car and a pick-up truck. The accident occurred when the truck driven by James F. Hollinger, 19, Decatur, struck the rear of a car driven by Peter Paul Edward Clark, 19, also of as Clark was attempting a left turn off 13th street onto Adams street. Damage to the rear of the Clark auto was estimated at $125 and S2O to the Hullinger truck by the investigating officer. The city police conducted the investigation. Van Wert Dairymen Plan Annual Tour Van Wert county, Ohio dairymen will make their annual dairy tour in Adams and Allen counties Friday, December 5, according to Leo N. Seltenright, county agricultural agent. The Ohio dairymen will visit Arnold Gerke’s dairy operation on their first stop at 8:45 am. The farm is located 14 miles north of Saddle lake or one mile east of Decatur and 24 north. The second stop will be at the Wayne Cooperative Milk processing plant at Fort Wayne. In the afternoon they will visit the Merle Felger and Phil Brundi farms northwest of Fort Wayne in Allen County. The Van Wert county dairymen extend an invitation for any interested Adams county dairymen to be present on the tour. Extension specialists John Foley, farm buildings of Purdue, and J. Blickle, farm buildings of Ohio State, will be present on the tour to answer questions on buildings.

Heart Attack Fatal To Woman In Court FORT WAYNE, Ind. <UPI) — Mrs. Velma Starnes, 47, Fort Wayne, fell dead of a heart attack today in Fort Wayne City Court as she waited to testify against her husband in an assault and battery case. Authorities said Mrs. Starnes signed an affidavit against Hayward Starnes, 50, earlier this week. The case was to come up in court this morning. The Starneses were sitting on opposite sides of the court room waiting for the judge to call up their case when she suddenly slumped from her chair to the floor.
