Former Local Man Returned To Ohio Returns To Ohio As Parole Violator Vernon (Ogg) Edrington, 44, Delphos. Ohio, and formerly of this city, was turned oyer to the Ohio state parole officers today for parole violation and transported back to Ohio, the sheriff’s department stated today. Two officers, Everett McSavaney and Herbert Markley, will take Ogg back to appear before the parole board. Ogg, as known to most people in Decatur, was first apprehended by the sheriff’s department early in the month for public intoxication when he was found drunk in a local law office rest room. He was unable to pay the fine and was confined to the Adams county jail to sit out the fine money. Two days after his conviction, Ogg walked out the side door of the jail at 9:35 a. m. November 5. He was found four hours later by the same deputy sheriff he had escaped from near the village of Pleasant Mills. He had apparently walked along the St. Mary’s river until he reached the covered bridge near Pleasant Mills, and was attempting to hitch a ride on the highway when the deputy found him. The Ohio authorities were notified immediately of the incident because he had recently been paroled from a prison in Ohio on a check forgery charge and had violated his parole. He will now be given judgment by the parole officers as to what conviction will face him.
