"No one can be satisfied unless he has a purpose into which he cqn pour his whole life. Nothing makes for futility more than little aims and trifling purposes. A great deal of life must be taken up with these. We spend the day in a whole series of activities in which we are achieving, different things. Part of it goes into work, part of it into friendship and home. The trouble is that life is often a heap of beads without a string to hold them together. A single bead by itself has little meaning or value, but set in its rlace in the necklace, it shines. ife needs an aim to bind it together. That is what Jesus offers when we follow Him and let life be guided by His spirit. The isolated acts of life are united in one end. and brought into place in God’s purpose.”
