iTfe-am Friends may well be considered our greatest wealth, for without friends all material success and material goods seem unimportant. Important as our friends are to us, sometimes we are critial of their faults and not sufficiently appreciative of their virtues which we take for granted. Such as attitude can disrupt the best of friendships. Without tolerance and sympathetic understanding friendships are not resting on solid foundations Every man has something to give of himself in friendships, and something to bear with his friend. Most of us have been fortunate enough to have wise friends who have given us good counsel when we needed it. One should have friends not for the sake of receiving but of giving. Among real friends there can be not rivalry or jealousy, whether they are equal in abilities, success, Or not. The most we can do for a friend is merely to be his friend. A real friend wants no other reward than that. ’ W — DO YOU KNOW 1. What did Paul say was a sure way to peace of mind? 2. What did Pau! say concerning idleness? 3. What did Peter teach should be our attitude toward civil government? 4. Where in the Bible is found admonitions to husbands and wives? 5. Which of the apostles was the bishop of Jerusalem?
