SOCIETY EAGLE AUXILIARY PLANNING SUPPER A regular meeting of the F.O.E. auxiliary number 2653 will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Eagles hall. The auxiliary will again donate Christmas gifts to the mental health program with Mrs. John Morgan as chairman. Plans for a Halloween party arid a dance will completed at this meeting. A ham and chicken supper will be sponsored by the auxiliary Saturday from 7 until 1 o'clock at the Eagles hall. Tickets can be purchased from an Eagle member or at the hall. Members are to note the location change of the meeting of the Decatur Home Demonstration club. The meeting will be held in the C. L. of C. hall Wednesday at 2 o’clock with Miss Lois Folk presenting the lesson. Holy Family Study club members will meet Monday at 8:30 o’clock with Mrs. Jack Gaffer. Members are asked to have a question prepared to ask Father Jac.s " [ To Name Ball State Queen Friday Night Miss Judy Locke, a sophomore at Ball State Teachers College, is a member of the six-member group which will present the 11 coed candidates for homecoming queen to the pep rally Friday evening on the Ball State campus, it was learned today. Today, campus men will vote for the reigning beauty for the weekend festivities, A fiesta theme will be portrayed during the weekend celebration. None of the candidates for queen is from Adams- county. A two-week publicity campaign preceded the election today, and the winner will be announced Friday evening. South District Scout Meeting On Tonight A south district roundtable meeting will be held tonight at the Baptist church in Liberty Center at 7:30 o’clock, it was announced today . All Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders are urged to attend the meeting to discuss the plans for the coming month. City, County Books Undergoing Audits Two auditors from the state board of accounts are going over the book kept by the city at city hall on a routine check. The examiners have been checking the books for approximately two weeks. The auditors, Harold F. Scott, of Anderson, and Robert R Wickersham. Jr.; of Leo, stated that ; they did not know exactly how long the routine check would take before their work is completed. Two other auditors from the state board of accounts have been working on the books at the court house for approximately four weeks.

Motorist Is Fined On Speeding Charge One traffic fine was paid in justice of the peace court Wednesday evening to charges filed last week by the state police against an Ohio driver. Harvey Hileman. 43, Willshire, 0., was arrested Saturday on Mercer avenue with the help of the electric timing device for speeding. The state police charged him with driving 40 miles per hour in a posted zone of 20 miles per hour. A fine of $16.75 was charged against Hileman after he entered a plea of guilty.

Preble Firemen To Purchase New Truck The Preble fire department has i voted to buy a new fire truck, and a 900-gallon modern tank waj gon has been ordered, it was learned today.
