Mayor Cole stated that the council and administration had specifically avoided any mention so that they could not be said to be influencing the election unduly. Now that the election has been definitely decided upon, the at a future date will set the time. Mayor Cole pointed out that this was not a political issue, but one that crossed party lines. The council itself is split on the question, one favoring , sale, one opposed, two on the line, and one totally uncommitted.
