WEDNESDAY IS THE DATE FOR TRI KAPPA COFFEE DAY Several homes of local members will be the sites for the Tri Kappa coffee day for mental health to be held Wednesday, Mrs. William F. Christen, president of the local chapter, announced. Co-chairmen for this project are Mrs. Joe Kaehr and Mrs. Lyman Hann. Friends will be invited as guests of the Tri Kappa mental health committee to support programs of research rants, scholarships, and special mental health projects. The local Tri Kappa chapter has been active in the program of the Adams county association for mental health. It will again sponsor the Christmas gifts from the mental health campaign with Mrs. James Kocher, Jr., as the Adorns county chairman. GECODE CLUB HAS MASQUERADE PARTY The Gecode Club of the General Electric company met Wednesday evening at the American Legion home for their annual Halloween party. A dinner was served by the Legion auxiliary at 6 o’clock. Sephus Jackson and Paul McAhren entertained with a comedy skit and song. Prizes were given to the best masked members who were, best drersed man. Miss Eloise Noll; best comic, Mrs. Claude Foreman; second best comic. Miss Dorothy Schnepf; best dressed Santa Claus. Mrs. William Weikel. and last one guessed, Mrs. Charles Mcßride. Members of the day shift committee were Miss Judy McKean and Mrs. Richard Maloney co-chai-rmen. Miss Marcella Theime, Miss Janet Brown. Mrs. Murry Holloway. Mrs. Lloyd Kreischer. Mrs Nellie White and Mrs. Leona Marquart? Members of night shift committee were; Miss Helen Fairchild, chairman. Mrs. Eugene Pettibone and Mrs. Margaret Clark. MONROE W.S.C.S. HAS GUEST SPEAKER THURSDAY Mrs. Geona Wilkerson, a community worker at the Methodist Neighborhood church and center of Fort Wayne, was the guest speaker at the October rally of the Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Monroe Methodist church members who met Thursday evening in the Farm Bureau administration building in Monroe. The meeting was opened with prayer by the president. Mrs. Glen Stucky, fallowed by the business session and roll call. Dates to remember were the week of prayer and self denial October 28. Announcement that the bazaar will be held November 18 was made as were the dates for the next study course, which will be November 3 and 10 and December 1. Mrs. Glen Stucky will teach the course. “Concerns of a continent.” Reading the devotions with a prayer was Mrs. John Floyd and a solo. “Teach Me to Pray,” was sung by Mrs. Myron Haggard. Next. Mrs. Stucky introduced the speaker, who told of her work in the Neighborhood Community Center. Members of the Associated! churches of Decatur will meet Tuesday at 7 o’clock at the Zion I Evangelical and Reformed church. ‘ All members are urged to attend. A meeting of the Music Department of the Woman’s club, will be held Monday at 8 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Stuart Brightwell.

MRS. MARK COLCHIN IS HOSTESS TO CLUB MEETING Mrs. Mark Colchin was hostess Thursday afternoon to members of the Town and Country Home Demonstration club. In charge of the meeting was the president, Mrs. William Meyers. After the members had repeated the club collect and the creed, roll club was answered by 12 members and one guest. Mrs. Colchin gave the health lesson and Mrs. Idenius Gase and Mrs. Charles Keller presented a lesson on work simplification, relaxations, and time management for the homemaker. During an election, Mrs. William Keller received the office of president and Mrs. Robert Colter, vice president. Secretary and treasurer is Mrs. John Bayles and the leaders are Mrs. Gerry Bixler and Mrs. Alice Bultemeier. Alternate leaders will be Mrs. Herman Myers and Mrs. Herman Heimain. In charge of publicity is Mrs. Homer Reace and Mrs. Charles Keller is the social chairman. Mrs. Mark Colchin is the health and safety leader and the song leader is Mrs’ Leo Teeple. The meeting was adjourned following the club prayer and refreshments were served by Mrs. Colchin and Mrs. Charles Keller. The Pythian Sisters meeting which was announced for Monday will be held at a later date. Members of the Mt. Pleasant Women’s Society of Christian Service. will meet Thursday at 7:30 o'clock with Mrs. Brice Sheets. The Decatur Emblem club members will meet Thursday at 8 o’clock at the local Elks home. He said the attackers swung shoes with football cleats. The Dunbar principal said his students' version was a lot different from that.

Girl Scout Council Plans Open House An invitation to the general public to inspect the new offices of the Limberlost Girl Scout Council, Inc., has been extended for Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11. On Friday the offices, located at 229-31 Central Building, Fort Wayne, will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All troop leaders have been urged to arange to bring their entire troops. This provides the girls an opportunity to understand the administration of the council, and to meet the entire professional staff and members of the board of directors who will serve as hostesses. College Counselor Talks To Seniors One of three college counselors expected to visit with Decatur high school seniors, spoke to five students at the school Friday afternoon, Deane T .Dorwin, who has charge of the counseling program scheduling, said today. Austin A. Cole, assistant director of admission at Wabash college, met approximately five students Friday and discussed pre-college problems. George M. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Drew and son Brent moved to Columbia City today, where Drew is a teacher in the Columbia City consolidated high school. Mrs. Drew is the former Marilyn Jaberg. Roger Koeneman, Root township dairy farmer and soil conservation aide in the U.S. SCS office in Decatur, left this morning for his six months service in the U.S. Army. Koeneman was given only eight days notice before being inducted. Miss Kenny Peck, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward Peck, hhs been elected publicity representative for her floor in Smithwood Hall at Indiana University. Miss Peck graduated from Monmouth high school and was a school reporter from that school in 1957. Her address is Smithwood Hall 1608, Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Steiner have returned home from a trip to Northern Michigan and Canada. Tomorrow they will leave for Columbus.
