Oct. 10 Deadline On first Soil Bank Step Answers Questions On Soil Bonk Plan Adams county farmers have a deadline coming up. It’s the closing date, October 10, for taking the first step to get in the 1959 soil bank’s conservation reserve program. < Victor Bleeke, chairman of the county agricultural stabilization and conservation committee, offers these answers to some questions about the sign-up 'now iff progress: Q. Dpes a farmer have only until October 10 to decide finally whether or not to c°me into the conservation * t A. No. That is,tire deadline for taking the initial step toward participation. But a farmer must take this step himself, otherwise he loses any chance of deciding later whether to participate. Q If a farmer does not come into the ASC office by October 10 and ask that his annual rental rates be established, will he be eligible? A No. Q. He should be able to furnish the ASC committee this information: His own estimate of the average yields of his three principal crops: his own estimate of the per-acre value of his cropland, exclusive of buildings or other improvements, and the acreage of all crops grown on hjs farm in 1957 and 1958.
