OLIVE REBEKAH LODGE MEETS AT 1.0.0. F. HALL Tuesday evening, members of the Olive Rebekah lodge met at the 1.0.0. F. hall, with a supper being served at 6:30 for all of the new members of the lodge. Following the supper, the regular lodge meeting was held. Mrs. Fred Rancher was selected as a delegate to the Rebekah assembly 1.0.0. F. of Indiana at Indianapolis, October 13. The next meeting will be September 23 with Three Link following the session. Mrs. Clarg Meyers and Mrs. Nettie Jacob were hostesses for the meeting. GECODE CLUB MEETS WITH MRS. LEWIS FENNIG The day shift members of the Gecode club of the General Electric Company met Saturday at the home of Mrs. Lewis Fennig at Saow Lake. A delicious luncheon was served by the committee. Swimming, boating, bingo, and spin-a-hoops were enjoyed during the afternoon, with prizes going to the various members. It was decided that the club would go to Chicago by train Saturday, September 27; leaving the Erie station here at 4:30 in the morning. They will stay at the Hotel Sherman. All day Saturday will be open for shopping, shows,

The committee in charge was Mrs. Roy August chairman, Miss Martha Myers. Miss Mary Miller, Mrs. Kenneth Gaunt. Mrs. Lewis Fennig, Miss Margaret Fruchte, Miss Eloise Noll, and Mrs. Tillman Gehrig. The second shift members met at Hanna-Nuttman park for a “Hard Time” party. The committee of the second shift was, Mrs. Jack Kline, chairman, Mrs. Charles Omlor, and Miss Ireta Miller. ROSE GARDEN CLUB HOLDS TUESDAY MEETING Mrs. Wilbur Stanley was hostess Tuesday afternoon to the members of the Rose Garden club. President, Mrs. Frank Crist, led the group in repeating the club collect and the pledge to the flag. A lesson of starting plants for winter was presented by Mrs. L. E. Archbold. She brought out the important facts of Sunlight, room temperature, moisture, soil, size of container and drainage needed to grow plants properly. It was decided that an auction would be held for the social part of the October 14 meeting. Each member is to bring something that she has made. The bylaws were read, discussed and approved. After the meeting the members were given tickets to sell for the September 23 style show. The next meeting will be October 14. The Loyal Daughters class of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church will hold a regular meeting Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Ed Warren. Mrs. A’. R. Ashbaucher will be hostess, to the members of the Decatur Garden club Tuesday at 2 o’clock. Mrs. Henry Heller trill be the leader and members are reminded that there will be a white elephant sale.

BOY SCOUT SHELTER HOUSE SCENE OF TUESDAY BUPPER Members ot the associate chapter of Tri Kappa enjoyed a 6:80 dinner at the Boy Scout shelter house Tuesday evening. Installation of officers for the year was held with the following results, president, Mrs. Forrest Murray; vice president, Mrs. Robert Holthouse; recording secretary. Mrs. Raymond Keller; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Deane Dorwin, and treasurer, Mrs. Wilbur Petrie. The various committees were appointed by the president, and plans were completed for the annual fall rummage sale which will be held 'in the Cole Bldg., Monroe St., Saturday, October 11. The hostesses for the evening were the new officers. and Mrs. J. J. Rowland from Kinston, N. C., was a guest for the evening. A potluck supper will be held by the members of the Church Mothers Study Club Tuesday at 6 o’clock a,t the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church. Members are to bring their own table service, and meat, rolls, and coffee will be furnished by the committee. Monday evening at 8 o’clock, members of the Rosary society will meet at the K. of C. hall. Members of the Gals and Pals Home Demonstration club should note that their meeting Tuesday evening at the Pleasant Mills school will be held at 7 o’clock instead of the usual time. A square dance with Carl Geels calling will be sponsored by the Decatur CYA Sunday at Sunset Park from 9 until 12 o’clock.

No Confirmation Os Todd-Taylor Visit A story that Mike Todd. Jr., and Elizabeth Taylor, movie celebrities, were in the Decatur area for several days recently is current in Decatur, but attempts to verify it positively have not been possible. The story is that Miss Taylor and her late husband's son were staying at the home of Mrs. Stewart W. McMillen while she has been in New York city. No one is known to have seen either of them, and no member of the McMillen family could be contacted to learn if the story were completely or partly fats# Plane Circles Low Over Decatur Area A large four-motored airplane, apparently attached to Baer Field national guard activities in Fort Wayne, made several low circles over the Decatur area in the vicinity of the Decatur airport on the Ivetich field just east of Decatur Tuesday evening. Miss Josephine Ivetich, owner of the airport, said she believed the plane was just taking a look at the Decatur area, rather than attempting a landing here. The national guard will patrol the Decatur area between 1 and 4 a. m. within a few weeks, and detailed information concerning the area will be necessary. Decatur Man Fined In Van Wert Court Allen W. Bohnke, of Decatur, Was fined 850 and Testy for parking on the roadway by the Van Wert. 0., municipal court, following his arrest by the Ohio state police. George and Marylyn Smith Liacopoulos of Columbus, Ohio, are the parents of a daughter born at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann’s hospital in that city. This is the first child and the granddaughter of Mrs. Anne K. Smith. Master Chris Gaffer, 20-rponth->old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gaffer, underwent eye surgery Tuesday at the Parkview memorial hospital in Fort Wayne. The results of the operation are undetermined. Mr.'and Mrs. Jack Debolt and daughters Debbie and Patty of Great Falls, Mont., left Tuesday for Washington, D.C., after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Miller and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Roman Stelgmeyer, of Garrett, returned home yesterday after visiting friends and relatives here. Miss Elaine Cochran has returned to her home after a sevenweek vacation in Wichita. Kan., and Gulnare, Colo. In Kansas she visited her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles IQmmmen. Her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Don Cochran and Mark, picked her up in Wichita and returned home byway of New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. Miss Kathy Cole left Sunday for Indianapolis where she has enrolled in the Indiana University school of x-ray‘technology. Mrs. Phyllis (Owens) Smith of 2908 Kenwood Avenue, Fort Wayne, has been dismissed from the Parkview memorial hospital, where she underwent surgery recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Beal accompanied their son. Bill, to Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, where he will begin his freshman year in business administration. He was graduated from Decatur Catholic high stfhool last June.
