Karen Murtaugh V/ed Recently To Donald V. Junk A gown of silk and lace was worn 6y Miss Karen Jean Murtaugh for her recent marraige to Donald V. Junk. Performed in the St. Mary’s Catholic church by the Very Rev. Robert Contant, the ceremony was double ring. Background music was provided by Sr. Margaretfa and the men’s choir, and white chrysanthemum plants on the altar were used to supply the setting. Joseph Murtaugh, of 434 Mercer avenue, and Mrs. Pauline Murtaugh, of 3209*2 Fairfield, Fort Wayne, are the parents of the new bride. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Junk, of 2401 Florida Drive, Fort Wayne. Given in marraige by her father, the bride .selected a gown which featured a bodice styled with alencon lace, short sleeves, and a scoop neckline. Her skirt, made of angelo mist silk, fell to a cathedral train in the back. She wore a double crown studded with pearls end rhinestones to which a veil Os imported silk illusion was caught. Her bridal bouquet was a shoWWF-s owcade of large white chrysanthemums and centered with white pompoms. Miss Marjorie York, the maid of honor, selected a scoop necked lace sheath dress of pervenche blue. It featured a matching pumpkin style overskirt of taffeta. She wore a matching horsehair braid.

The bridesmaids, Miss Delores Kintz and Miss Eleanor Junk, were gowned identically to that of the honor attendant. They wore matching hats and carried bouquets of white majestic daisies. Dan Harges, of Fort Wayne, was the best man. Ushers were William Maehlman of Celina, Ohio, and Lawrence Kelly of Fort Wayne. Both mothers wore sheath dresses with matching accessories and a corsage of camellias to complement their outfits. Twenty five people were served at the wedding breakfast which was held at the Youth and Community Center. From 7 until 10 o’clock, a reception was held at the G.E. Union hall in Fort Wayne Servers were the Misses Judy Bedsworth. Patricia Little and Sharon Burk, all of Fort Wayne. For a northern honeymoon, the bride changed into a tangerine wool chemise dress with patent accessories. A graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and St. Joseph’s school of x-ray technology, the new Mrs. Junk is employed by the Irene Byron hospital in Fort Wayne. The bridegroom graduated from Central Catholic high school in Fort Wayne and is attending Indiana University. The future address of the couple is 2533 Euclid street, Fort Wayne.
MARRIAGES OF DAUGHTERS ARE ANNOUNCED Mrs. Frances Uleman, wife of the late Herman Uleman, announces the marriages of her eldest and youngest daughters. Miss Leona Uleman was married recently to Charles Morris of Fullerton, Calif. For their wedding, which was performed in the St. Philips church in Fullerton, the couple had as their only attendants Miss Ada Zbornick apd Edward ; Conloy. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Morris ; of Fullerton are the parents of the ■ bridegroom. The new Mr. and Mrs. , Morris are both employed at : Hughes Aircraft in California. A potluck dinner was served at 6 o’clock from tables which were decorated with bowls of fall flowers _ The committee in charge included Mrs. Ed Ahr and Mrs. Martin Weiland. Following the dinner, regular temple was held with Mrs. T. F. Wells as a guest. ADAMS COUNTY W.S.C.S. TO MEET FRIDAY The Adams county Methodist Women’s Society of Christian Ser-, vice group meeting will be held at the Decatur Methodist Church ; Friday. The morning sesion will be under the direction of Mrs. Dean Aldrich, and will start at 9:15 o’clock. A luncheon will be served by the host church at the noon hour. Mrs. Austin Merriman, group leader. will preside during the afternoon, and Miss Myrtle Smith will be the afternoon speaker. She was born in Wisconsin, and received i her missionary training at Cincinnati Missionary training school. She ' went to Foochow, China, January 10, 1922, and retired April 1, 1958, and at present is making her home in Iron Mountain, Mich. There will be eleven churches participating in the meeting. MRS. JACK HELLER IS HOSTESS TO FAREWELL PARTY The patio at the home of Mrs. Jack Heller was the scepe of a surprise “Kaffeeklatsch” Saturday morning held for the purpose of bidding bon voyage to Mrs. Robert Krueckeberg and children, Steven and Debby. They are flying to Germany this Sunday. Mrs. Krueckeberg. the honored guest, was presented with a corsage of rust-colored mums on her arrival. Coffee and cookies were served to the mothers while the children enjoyed orange juice, koolaid and cookies. Their plane stops at London and Frankfort before arriving at Suttgart, Germany, their destination and the home of Mrs. Krueckeberg’s parents. They have made tentative plans to reto return to Decatur between Christmas and New Years. 18 ATTEND RECENT PARLEY MEETING Monday evening, the members of the Past President's parley met at the Legion home with 18 present. Mrs. Lloyd Kreischer, hostess, served a dessert luncheon after which Mrs. Fred Witte, the outgoing president, presided over the business meeting. At this time the treasurer's and reports were read. Announcement was made of the fourth district Past Presidents parley meeting which will be held at Adams Lake September 16 at the home of Mrs. Burl Goldsmith. The parley members and their husbands are invited to the Tilman Gehrig cottage September 28 for a meeting. Mrs. Vincent Bormann will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Witte thanked the parley for their cooperation the past year and turned the meeting over to the new officers, Mrs. Ed Bauer, president, and Mrs. Lawrence Rash, secretary. Mrs. Bauer announced than the fourth district parley meeting will be held in Decatur in June of 1959. After announcement that Mrs Mabel Liniger will be hostess to the meeting in October, pinochle was played and prizes won by Mrs. Dee Fryback, Mrs. Vincent Bormann, and Mrs. Herman Dierkes. Unit four of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church will meet Thursday at 8 o’clock with Mrs. Karl Kolter. IRTH 9i At the Adams county memorial hospital: A girl weighing seven pounds and one ounce was born Monday at 5:10 p.m. to Paul and Pauline Wendel Steiner, of route 1, Rockford, Ohio. Nolen and Patricia Hurst Salway. of route 5, are the parents of a seven pound, seven and one half ounce girl born at 4:50 o’clock this morning. At 7:35 a.m. today, the Rev. Carl and Lou Moore Greek, of 526 Sprunger street. Berne, became the parents of a seven pound, four ounce boy. A girl was born Monday afternoon at 4:23 o’clock to James and Dorothy Bair Pollock of 314 Line street. She weighed four pounds and trine and one half ounces. A family reunion was held recently with a pot-luck supper held at Hanna-Nuttman park. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smitley and children. Huntington; Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Huntertown Woman Is Killed By Train FORT WAYNE, Ind. <UPD — Mrs. Betjy McComb, 35, R. R. 2. Huntertown, was injured fatally and her two children were hurt today when, their automobile was struck by a New York Central Railroad freight, train. The accident occurred at an Allen county crossing two miles east of Huntertown, as Mrs. McComb drove along a wet blacktop road.
