■ JEjjttS THE ENGAGEMENT OF MISS BETTY JANE SMITH to Robert Lee Hildebrand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hildebrand, rural route 2, has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith of Decatur. Miss Smith will be a senior at Decatur high school this year and her fiance is a graduate of Monmouth high school and is engaged iu farming- with his father. A definite wedding date has not yet been set.

Now Available Technical Jobs Need Filling The U. S. Civil Service Commis- | sion has announced examinations for filling the positions of Bacteriologist. Serologist, and Biochemist in Veterans Administration hospitals throughout the country, and for PAson Industrial Supervisor with the Department of Justice in various penal and correctional institutions th rou ghout the United States. Bacteriologist and Serologist pos itions pay from $4,980 to $9,890 a year, and Biochemist, from $5,430 to $10,130 a year. To qualify, applicants must" show appropriate college study and pertinent professional experience. Full information is given in Announcement No. 1638. The positions of Prison Industrial Supervisors pay ( from $4,980 to $5.985 a year. Applicants for these positions must have had basic and supervisory experience in connection with the manufacture of brooms, brushes, canvas products clothing, gloves, mattresses, tex tiles, metal products, rubber products, shoes, or wood products; or in the operation of a cannery, foundry. laundry, print shop, or saw mill: or in the furniture or typewriter repair work. The Department of Justice desires men for these positions except that women will be considered _for positions in clothing manufacture at the Federal Reformatory for Women. Alderson. W. Va.
