Purdue university says now is the time to reseed your lawn if you have water available to irrigate it. If this weather continues, everyone will have plenty of water for irrigation! o o As a public service, newspapers, radio stations and TV will carry much information on the “Don’t Pass the Buck—Give a Dollar to the Party of Your Choice.” Remember when the representative of your party knocks on your door, and asks for a small contribution, that it is part of the price we must pay for living in a Democracy. We think is is well worth the price. Do you? ~— ——o—" 1 Mrs. Henry Knapp, 95 year old mother of Harry and Charles Knapp, Mrs. Bertha Ashbaucher, and Mrs; Elizabeth Miller, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Thursday evening. Jenner’s giveaway amendment to the education bill was defeated. He had proposed that while Indiana citizens pay taxes for the bill they should be exempted from receiving the $l4O per classroom unit payment authorized. This would have cost Adams county more than $22,000, and cost the state untold millions. o o— Bishop Leurs high school, the new Catholic school being built near highway 27 at the entrance to Fort Wayne from Decatur, will be dedicated Sunday by Bishop Pursley. Enrollment will start next month with 150 students the first year. Fort Wayne’s parochial school system is expected to grow considerably in the next few years.' ■—\ . o o The city council's decision to continue their study of the Indi-ana-Michigan offer is a wise one. All the facts in the case shoffld be carefully studied. Once the plant is sold, it is too late to talk about “druthers.” Still, a decision as rapidly as possible, to help those whose service is now poor is called for. Rural users certainly 'have plenty of reasons^Tor-com-plaining. They should recall, however, that the city built lines for them when there were- no co-ops and no private company would touch the project with a long stick.
