Betty Bultemeier Wed Saturday To David E. Doctor Candelabra, palms and beauty vases of white gladioli graced the altar of the St. John’s Lutheran church Saturday evening when Miss Betty Lou Bultemeier and David E. Doctor exchanged wed* ding vows. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. H. Jacob and organist W. E. Uffelman and the St. John’s choir provided background music. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Martin H. Bultemeier, of route 1, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Doctor. of route 1, Fort Wayne. Wearing a gown of pelon-lined Dupioni silk, the bride was escorted to the front of the church by her father. The pearl studded yoke was of re-embroidered alencon lace and featured short sleeves. Lace also accented the back panels of the princes gown that flowe dinto a full cotillion skirt which ended in a cathedral train. She wore matching mitts and a fingertop veil of silk illusion, which was caught to a Swedish crown of rhinestones and pearls. A cascade arangement of stephanotis, ivy, white pompoms and a white orchid were carried by the bride. Marton of honor was Mrs. Melvin Frosch, sister of the bride. She selected a princess styhed frock of peppermint green chronspum taffeta with short sleeves and a waltz with length harem skirt. A circlet of macthing taffeta topped with pearls and a circular veil completed her costume. Pink glamellias were the flowers she carried. Mrs. Donald Hoffman. Miss Colleen Doctor and Mis Marlene Bulmahn were bridesmaids in gowns styled identically to the honor attendant in a honeydew green and they carried a cascade of deep red glamellias. ANNUAL HOMECOMING IS PLANNED AT CHURCH The annual homecoming of The Salem Methodist church will be held Sunday at the church with morning worship beginning at 9:30 o’clock. Following the worship service, a basket dinner will be served at noon and a volunteer program will take place during the afternoon. Anyone wishing to be in the program may inform the homecoming president or secretary. The Rev. Billy J. Springfield is pastor of the church and 1958 homecoming officers are Elisha Merriman, president; Mrs. Elisha Meriman, vice president; and Mrs. Clair Carver, secretary-trea-surer. PYTHIAN SISTERS MEET MONDAY NIGHT A meeting of the members of the Pythian Sister’s Needle club was held Monday after the regular Temple meeting. Presiding at the business meeting which was held at the K. of P. home, was Mrs. Ed Ahr, who also had charge of roll call. Games were played with prizes awarded to the winners and later, refreshments were served by Mrs. Ed Ahr, Mrs. Frank Crist and Mrs. J. Fred Fruchte. Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, members of unit two of the Women’s Society for World Service of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church will meet at the home of Mrs. Fred McConnell. Wayne office of the General Electric Co, Aspy is a grduate of Hoagland high school, and is selfemployed. LEE HINDMANS REPEAT VOWS ON ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Lee A. Hindman, of 4514 Arlington avenue, Fort Wayne, repeated their wedding vows at 8 a.m. today in the Precious Blood Catholic church, Fort Wayne, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, the Rev. Simeon Schmitt officiating., After receiving the vows. Father Schmitt, in giving the blessing, read a cablegram from the Pope, with a special blessing for the couple and those who attended the ceremonies, A wedding breakfast at 12 noon at Hall’s in Fort Wayne, followed the ceremonies. This evening a reception, for close friends and relatives, will be held at the home of their oldest daughter, Mrs. Victor Dining, in Fort Wayne. The Hindmans were married August 12, 1908, in St. Mary's Catholic church. Mrs. Hindman is the former Nettie Smith. There are five children: three daughters, Mrs. Deining (Capitola), Mrs. Ray McConn (Margery), Fort Wayne, and Miss Virgene Hindman, at home; and two sons, Lee Marcel, Fort Wayne, and Wayne, in California. There are 15 grandchildren. Immediate relatives who reside in Decatur include: brothers Joseph Smith, and Vincent Smith, who now is in Florida, and nieces and nephews Mrs. Arthur Voglewede, the Misses Stella, Virgene, and Geraldine Smith, and Elmo and Gerald Smith. VAUGN HILARDS FETED ON SIVER ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn L. Hilyard, of 624 Jefferson street, were the guests of honor at a party Saturday evening in observance of the couple's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, which was celebrated Thursday. They were married in Hammond August 7, 1933. Present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Johnston, Mrs. • Goldie Hilyard, Mr. and Mrs. Max F. Andrews and Stephania and Brian and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mies and daughter Jennifer. Mrs. Hilyard is the former Margaret Kitson, daughter of Harve Hilyard and the late Clarence Hilyard. The couple has two daughters, Barbara and Gwen, and three grandchildren. A rummage sale is being sponsored by the women of the Magley Evangelical and Reformed church and will be held Saturday at 8:30 a. m. in the Floorcraft store on Second street. ♦ The Weldy family reunion, which was to be held this Sunday has been postponed until August 24 and will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Rupright. Man Fined Here For Public Intoxication Millard Day, 45, Livingston, Tenn., appeared in mayor’s court; at 9 o’clock today on charges of public intoxication. Day was arrested by the city police Monday at 7:50 p.m. at Second and Monroe streets, and taken to the AJdams county jail and given breathlizen test. Day was given a fine of sls on the charges filed against him. He was unable to pay the fine and was taken to the Adams county jail until money for the fine could be raised. Marie Dionne Wed In Secret Ceremony Frailest Os Quints Is Married Monday MONTREAL (UPD —Marie Dionne, the frailest of the four surviving 24-year-old quintuplets, honeymooned today with her 38-year-old husband following a wedding so secret that no friends or relatives were present. The third of the quintuplets to wed, Marie, who once planned to become a nun. and Florian Houle, who once studied for the priesthood, were married Monday at 9 a. m. in the Sacred Heart chapel of Montpelier’s famed Notre Dame Church. Two altar boys who served at I the nuptial mass also acted as, i witnesses. Marie's parents and her famed sisters, Cecile, Annette and Yvonne, learned of the couple s plans only the night before or Monday morning. Another sister, Rose Girouard, of Niagara Falls. Ont., said she had known nothing about it until informed by United Press International. There was no reception after the wedding and the couple left immediately by automobile on a honeymoon. Houle’s sister, Mrs. George Rousse, said they planned to live in Montreal. The couple had been engaged for about six months, and were married in suits cut from the bolt of cloth. Houle’s family described him as an executive, but refused to disclose his occupation. Carl Miller Injured By Dive Into Lake Carl Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Miller, and Decatur Daily Democrat paper boy for Monmouth, is sporting a new cap these days. Carl dived from his brother s shoulders into Big Long lake Sunday, and struck his head on a large rock. The doctor had to take 12 stitches in the front of his fore head, and he now wears a fancy white bandage. Two Autos Collide At Street Crossing Two autos collided Monday at 2:10 a.m. at the interesection of j Seventh and Monroe streets, causing property damage estimated at S4OO. A car driven by Mary O. Ladd, 43, route two, Decatur, was struck by a car driven by John Hoffman, 45, 233 N. Uth street, as the Ladd car attempted to cross Monroe street from the north to the south. Mrs. Ladd stated that an unidentified driver in a third auto motioned her across the intersection when the accident occurred Damage to both autos was estimated at S2OO each by the investigating officer. Mrs. Bittner Named As School Secretary Mrs. Franklin Bittner was hired recently by the county superintendent of schools as secretary to fill the position recently vacated by Mrs. Tom Noll, who resigned effective August L Mrs. Bittner graduated from Monmouth high school in 1956 and is a former secretary for the Monmouth high school principal, Loren Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Bittner reside at 509 Mercer avenue. Ask To Interview Teel’s Secretary Authorities Will Request Interview INDIANAPOLIS (UPD—Authorities said today they will “soon” request an interview with the 3»-year-ow secretary Forrest Teel visited the night he was shot to death in his white Cadillac by another woman. The 54-year-old wealthy executive of a big drug firm was slain the night of July 31. Mrs. Connie Nicholas, 42, who was found in a sleeping pill coma nearly 24 hours after the shooting, admitted the shooting to detectives and newsimen but said later after she hired an attorney that she couldn’t remember making any admission. Two days after Teel was killed, authorities revealed they questioned Miss Laura Mowrer, whose name and address were found on a slip of paper in Mrs. Nicholas’ car. They said Miss Mowrer told them Teel spent seven hours in her apartment .and left just before the shooting. Mrs. Nicholas had admitted she waited in Teel’s car and shot him when he struck her as they argued over his attentions to a younger Woman. William T. Sharp, chief trial deputy in Prosecutor John G. Tinder’s office, said he would ask Miss Mowrer’s attorney to arrange an interview as the state prepares a grand jury case against Mrs. Nicholas. Mrs. Nicholas, held on a firstdegree murder charge pending recovery from an alleged suicide attempt, is “doing very well” in a hospital detention ward, doctors said.

While visiting in Chicago she was bitten by a dog, but was treated and enjoyed the rest of her vacation. Accompanying their granddaughter to St. Louis, Mo., were Mr. and Mrs. Forest Deitsch of Decatur. Their granddaughter. Miss Amy Loemker, went to join her parents, Captain and Mrs. Fred Loemker who have moved to Enid, Okla., where he is stationed with the Air Force. Wilma Dippel, Barbara Bleeke, Dorothy Week, David Gallmeyer, and Whitey Schaefer are among the 1800 delegates attending the 66th convention of the international Walther League at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Burke and son Mike, and Mrs. Niva Ligljt spent the weekend in Nashville, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Meshberger and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Call and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Edwards have returned home after spending their vacation in Northern Michigan. After spending three weeks in the west, Mr. and Mrs. Harry King returned home Saturday. They spent 10 days of their vacation visiting with their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. R. C.
