suit of the motorcycle mishap. J A motorcycle driven by Donald E. Hess, 21, Decatur, skidded on loose gravel at Hanna-Nuttman park Sunday at 2:30 a. m., causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and throwing the riders to the ground. Riding with Hess was Beatrice Wolfe of Decatur. Both of the occupants were taken to the Adams county hospital and treated for scratches caused by the gravel. Both were s released following treatment. Damage to the motorcycle was ? estimated by the city police at . SSO. The accident occurred on the main road near the Girl and Boy Scout cabins. An accident occurred Saturday at p. m. one and one half miles south of Berne on U. S. 27 near the Trees drive-in. Involved were Curtis A. Liechty, 17, route one, "Berne, and Ray E. Miller, 46, route one, Portland. The Miller vehMe, attempting to enter onto the highway, was struck by the Liechty vehicle on the left rear side. The Liechty auto was approaching from the north. Roger Beitler Heads Extension Center BLOOMINGTON—Roger T. Beitler of Berne, who recently received the doctor of education degree from Indiana University, has been named director of "Kent State University’s new extension center in Ashtabula, Ohio. In addition to serving as director, the I.U. graduate also will be assistant professor of education. He holds the bachelor’s and master's degrees from Ball State Teachers College. Mr. and Mrs. Forerst Dietsch returned Sunday from St. Louis, Mo., where they took theh granddaughter, Amy Roefke, to meet her parents, ( Lt. and Mrs. Fred Roemke, The Roemkes have moved to Bnid, Oklahoma, where he is stationed with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Heller and sons Steven , and Eric are spending two weeks on a camping trip in Virginia and Maryland, where they are visiting historical sites relating to the civil war. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Gilliom and children John and Barbara are spending the week vacationing at a lake in northern Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Harvey, and Mrs. Myrtle Leiter, of Garrett, after atending the wedding Miss Barbara Lewton and Dick Haynes Sunday, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harvey, of Root township, Sunday afternoon. * Misses Kathleen and Miss Nancy Olson of Berkley, Mo., visited with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin (Wimmerman a Mrs. Martin Zimmerman, and last week visited relatives in Chicago aad returned to their home in Berkeley, a suburb of St. Louis. Mrs. Wilbur Robinson, Mrs. Eugene Vetter and children, Ron and Gary Robinson and Harold Weidler motored to Culver Military Accadamey where they visited with friends and attended the review parade in the evening. Ron Robinson is a former instructor at Culver. Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Andtrson returned Sunday from a two weeks trip through Michigan across the bridge at the straits of Mackinac, to Mackinac Island, Saplt Sts. Marie, in to Canada, and spent three days on Houghton lake in northern Michigan. Miss Rose Kleinhenz, a patient at Adams county memorial hospital, is. reported improving.
