Msgr. J. J. Seimetz this morning Bouquets of pink and white gladioli graced the altar of the church and nuptial selections were presented by Sr. M. Bonaventure, CSA, and the men’s choir who sang “The Missateria,” “Ave Maria” and as the bride presented her bouquet to the Blessed Virgin, “Memorare.” Mr. and Mrs. Herman A. gowned into a chapel length dress of embroidered tulle and chantilly lace. The empire bodice of lace was outlined by a narrow band of taffeta which formed a back bow. The front of the dress dipped to a V and was featured with short sleeves with which she wore white gloves. A taffeta Juliet cap com-' bined with rice, pearls held her fingertip veil of French illusion in place. For flowers, she carried an orchid with streamers of stephanotos. Miss Rosalie Wilder, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor and Miss Eleanor Wemhoff and Miss Louise Wilder were bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid, respectively. They wore identically styled gowns of embossed nylon organdy in white over orchid. The fitted bodices featured a scoop neckline and brief sleeves and the bouffant skirts were topped by shirred taffeta. They wore matching headpieces and carried cascade arrangaments of orchids and
white mums. Little Miss Marjorie Welling served as the flower girl for her aunt’s wedding and wore a petal pink waltz length dress of silk organza which was fitted with a cummberbund. To complete her ensemble, she wore a white hat, white gloves and a gold cross a gift of the bride. Miss Welling carried a basket of orchid and white mums and pink carnations. Best man was Glenn Wilder, and Edward Wilder and Carl J. Lengerich seated the guests. Carrying the jrings on a heart shaped pillow was Stephen Lengerich, nephew of the bride. A navy blue chiffon dres with white acessories and a corsage of pink carnations was worn by the bride’s mother, and Mrs. Wilder chose a light blue dres with navy accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. A dinner was served this noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall for 50 guests and from 2 until 5 o’clock guests are being greeted at a reception also at the K. of C. frttt ■ - — The serving table is decorted with a four tier wedding cake topped with orchid and white mums. The bridesmaid’ bouquets suround it. Servers include the Misses Janice Titus, Nancy Mies, Majorie Kohne, Margaret Ulman and Elizabeth Miller. — . For an unannounced wedding trip, the new Mrs. Wilder will change into a navy blue dress trimmed in white and will wear the orchid from her bridal bouquet. A graduate of Decatur Catholic high school, Mrs. Wilder is a secretary with Leland Smith Insurance Agency in Decatur. Wilder also graduated from Decatur Catholic high school and is employed by Central Soya company in Decatur. A meeting of the Eagles auxiliary will be held at the Eagles hall Tuesday at 8 o’clock. Plans will be completed for the past presidents and charter night, to be held August 26.

MISS SHIRLEY HIRSCHY IS HONORED AT SHOWER A samon colored gladolia corsage was presented to Miss Shirley Hirschy upon her arrival at a shower given in her honor by Mrs. Carl Hirschy and Mrs. True Gephart. Miss Hirschy will become the bride of Joseph Brite August 23 1 in the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The hostess’ home was decorated in green and white and a wedding cake on the serving table highlighted the occasion. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Arthur Lengerich, Mrs. Melvin Luhman, Mrs. Glen Straub, Jr., and Miss Anna Marie Lengerich. After the game period, Miss Hirschy opened her gifts. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, lemonade, and nuts and mints were then served to the Mesdames Herman Loshe, Arthur Lengerich, Julius Brite, Milo Fox, Glen Griffiths, Rienhard Selking, Lester Kaehr, Alfred Hjrschy, Donald Dale, John Brite, Roy Lengerich, Roman Brite, Glen Straub, Jr., Jesse Fox, Richard Lengerich, Robert Speakman, Melvin Luhman, and the Misses Arlene Hirschy, Anna Marie Lengerich, Diana Hirschy, and Charlotte Gephart. Unable to attend but sending gifts were Mrs. Charles Lehman, Mrs. Marlene Hoffman, Mrs. Clarence Lengerich, Mrs. Robert Lengerich, Sr. M. Emardine and Sr. M. Redempta. OFFICERS OF MONMOUTH PTA MEET THURSDAY A meeting of the new officers and committee chairmen of the Monmouth Parent Teachers Association was held Thursday. The members i®et at the school house at 7:30 o’clock. Mrs. William Schnepf, the new president, was in charge of the business meeting and it was learned at this time that the next meeting will be Monday, August 25, at 7:30 o’clock at the school. ANNUAL RETREAT HELD BY MISSIONARY SOCIETY Vases of flowers and candles with a picture of Christ as the Good Shepherd formed the background decorations for the annual retreat of the members of the Church of God Missionary Society who met Thursday evening , in the fellowship basement. I . As the ladies arived, refreshments were served, after which the meeting was opened by the members repeating the misionarj pledge. Following a short business meeting under the direction o: Mrs. Floyd Mitchel, Mrs. Huston Bever, Jr., presented the program the tqpic “He Leadeth Me.” Assisting Mrs. Bever were Mrs. Kenneth Mitchel, Mrs. Robert Strickler and Miss Edith Mattox. Solos were presented by Mrs. Kenneth Watkins and Mrs. Earl Geyer and the members also participated in several numbers. A prayer closed the meeting and it was given by Mrs. Earl Patrick Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Verlyn Geyer, Mrs. Herman Hammond, Mrs. Guy Agler and Mrs. Floyd Mitchel. Z<Z : X AI I I Miss Marcella Gillig and Ronald J. Smith will be married August 30 in the St. Mary’s Catholic church, Mr. and Mrs. Leo L. Gillig, her parents, have announced. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith of route 4, Fort Wayne. A graduate of Decatur Catholic high school. Miss Gillig has been attending St. Joseph’s school of. nursing and will be graduated from there August 17. Her fiance graduated from Ossian high school and is employed in the construction field.
Rev. Eppley Speaker At Trinity Church The Rev. Paul Eppley, of Oakwood Park, Syracuse, will be the guest speaker in the morning worshp service at the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church August 10. Eppley is the director of the conference office of the Indiana north conference of the Evangelical United Brethren church. He has served churches in Waterloo, South Bend Lydick and Island Chapel. Rev. Eppley will in September assume the additional responsibilities of superintendent of Oakwood Park. Show Mission Film At Trinity Sunday The missions committee of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church is sponsoring the film, "The Way of God,” in the Sunday evening worship service. This colored film was made in the Evangelical United Brethren mission in Sierra Leone, West Africa. It is the true story of the pastor of the Moyamba church conducting the consecration service of a new Paramount chief, Madam Gulama.
