MISS BETTY BULTEMEIER HONORED AT SHOWER A miscellaneous shower in honoi of Miss Betty Bultemeier was held recently, with Mrs. Melvin Frosch, Mrs. Donald Hoffman and Mrs. Martin P. Bultemeier as hostess. After refreshments were served by the hostesses. Miss Bultemeier «. opened her gifts which had been placed on a table which was decked with a bouquet of flowers and a miniture bride and bridesmaids dolls with the colors of green apd white used throughout the room. Helping to honor the bride-elect were the Mesdames Roy,Bixler, Harold Schamerloh, Fred SchamerJ_9h. Robert Asbaucher, Morris Weighman, Carl Melcher, Harold Sauers, Otto Fuhrman, Russel Stonesifer, yDelmar Gerbqrs, Dean . Doctor, Martin H. Bultemeier and the Misses Genny Rerter, Coleen and Linda Doctor, Lorine Reiter, and Marlene Bulmahn. Miss Bultemeier also received gifts from the Mesdames Robert Klingel, Gilbert Hoffman, Herbert Doctor, Kenneth Doctor and Miss Eloise Aumann who were unable to attend. TOMMY RASH OBSERVES BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY Master Tommy Rash celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary recently with a party given at the home of his parents, Mr .and Mrs. Lawrence Rash. The young guests played games and were served refreshments of ice cream and cake. Favors of party hats, balloons and pencils were also given to each guest. Those present were Master James and Master Robert Scott of California, Miss Jane Ann Smith, Miss Jane, Miss Nancy, Miss Sharon, Master David, and Master , Eugene Friedt, Miss Laurie Johnson, Miss Clauria and Miss Tonno Bultemeier, Miss Pamela Hall, Miss Barbara and Miss Nancy Keller, and Master Dennis Rash. Those unable to attend were Miss Deborah Bultemeier and Master Bobby Schafer. ANNUAL KOLTER REUNION HELD AT BERNE SUNDAY Sunday, the annual Kolter reunion was held at Lehman s Park in Berne with a basket dinner served for the evening meal. Members of the family attending were Mr. "and Mrs. Kotter. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Kolter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Borne. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heller, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kolter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Borne and family. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Moser and son. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kolter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bieberich and family, Mrs. Alan Baker and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beer and family. . Following the dinnejr, Adolph Kolter presided at the business meeting, at which time it was decided to have the 1959 reunion at the same location on the last Sunday of July. A meeting of the members of the Veterans of the Foreign Wars auxjliary will be held Monday at 8 o’clock at the Post Home. -t— — . Richmond Woman Is Drowned Wednesday CONNERSVILLE, Ind (UPI) — Delores Beckner, 35, Richmond, drowned late Wednesday in the east fork of the White River two said the body was discovered by miles south of here. Authorities Harry Dail, an employe of a Connersville gravel firm about two hours after she was reported missing.

Decatur Resident Is Injured In Fall 1 Miss Celia Mayer was taken to the Adams county memorial hospital Wednesday afternoon after falling down the basement stairs at her home at 814 North Third street. « It was reported that a neighbor i lady found Miss Mayer approximately one hour after the mishap occurred. A local ambulance was summed and the lady was taken io the hospital for treatment. It was learned today that Miss Mayer : s suffering from shoulder injuries as a result of the accident. Six Polio Cases Added In Indiana INDIANAPOLIS <UPD — Six cases in five counties were added to Indiana’s “official” polio count during the past week. They did not include the state’s first polio death ( of 1958. The Indiana State Board of Health listed 2 in Cass and 1 each in Clark, Montgomery, Parke and Warrick Counties, all of them reported last week. Previously only four cases were reported — one each in Lake, Marion, Clark and Warrick Counties. A South Bend man died earlier this week from polio. Kendallville Man Is Shocked Fatally * FORT ~WAYNET”Ina. “ fUPIV' Clarence Miller, 36, Kendallville, was electrocuted today when he touched a switch to turn off an electricial machine in an industri-al-plant where he worked. Foreman Mainard Anderson said Miller complained earlier that he got a shock when he touched the switch, but a maintenance man could find nothing wrong. f*-11-Year-Old Rocket Enthusiast Killed TEANECK, N. J. (UPI) An 11-year-old rocket enthusiast was killed Wednesday when a homemade rocket—propelled toy auto blew up in his face. Merrill Poliakoff was proly after the rocket — an empty carbon dioxide cartridge filled with saltpeter, sulphur and charcoal — exploded when he touched a match to it and sprayed his chest and shoulder with metal fragments. i > trade in a good town — Decatts

Chicago Youth Given Long Prison Sentence Enters Guilty Plea To Robbery Charge LAFAYETTE, Ind. (UPI) — A Tippecanoe Circuit Court Judge handed a 10-25 year sentence in the Indiana State, Reformatory to John Delk. 19, Chicago, following Delk’s guilty plea to robbery charges Wednesday. During the same proceedings, Glen W. Prophet, 29, Chicago; filed a motion for a new trial. He based the motion on an alleged error in the first trial because of evidence admitted over defense objections. He also said the defense was refused permission to ■ -give - certain- instructions- to the jury and that the verdict was “contrary to law and was not sustained by sufficient evidence.” Prophet is presently serving a life term for his part in the shooting of Carroll County sheriff Calvin Carey last March. Delk and Prophet were originally arrested in connection with the March 5 shooting of Carey after they overpowered th.e sheriff and deputy John Miller and escaped with Carey's revolver. Carey was shot in the abdomen with his own gun during the struggle. The two men were charged with inflicting physical injury in commission of robbery. To Transfer American Base Over To Chile SANTIAGO, Chile (UPI) — The United States and Chile have reached agreement on the transfer to Chile of an American base in the Antarctic, it was disclosed today. The base is in territory claimed by Chile.
Three From County Attend Camp Shaw Represent County At Young People's Camp Miss Gloria Koeneman, Miss Sally McCullough, and Miss Legora Markle will represent Adams county at Camp Shaw in the upper peninsula of Michigan for the Midwest Bureau young peoples’ camp August 1 through 4. Miss Koeneman and Miss McCullough left early as Miss Koeneman must report early for an officer's meeting. She was elected secretary of the midwest rural youth camp. Mrs. Richard Augsburger will take their places in the extension office for the rest of the 4-H fair. Miss Markle will leave this evening for the camp, which is located near Chatham, Mich. Twelve mid-west states will be represented by the four-day camp;
