BRIDE-ELECT HONORED WITH SHOWER MONDAY ” Miss Scarlet Ann Fea sei, brideelect of July 19 was honored with a kitchen shower held at the home of Mrs. Charles Feasel Monday evening. During the evening, Miss Feasel was presented with a corsage and contests were played with prizes going to Mrs. Robert Feasel, Mrs. Noah Hirschy and Mrs. Bill Arnold. who in turn presented then to the guest of honor. FAMILY GET-TO-GETHER HELD SUNDAY AT HOME A family get-to-gether was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nevin V. Miller with a basket dinner served at the noon hour and games played in the afternoon. Mrs. Ivan Allen and daughter, Mrs. Glen Fegley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo King Sr. and son, Mr. and Mrs. Leo King Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller and children, Mrs. Donald S. Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, of all Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allen of Fort Wayne, and Mr. and Mrs. Iven W. Allen and family of Charleston, Md. A carry-in picnic will be held by the members of the Kum-Duble class of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church Friday at 6 o'clock at Lehman park, Berne. Tuesday at 7:30 o’clock, the members of the Jolly Housewives Home Demonstration club of St. Mary’s township, will meet at the Pleasant Mills school.

SORORITY MEETS AT YOUTH CENTER TUESDAY EVENING Mrs. William Christen, president of the Alpha Sigma chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, conducted the brief business meeting of that organization, which was held at th? Youth and Community center Tuesday evening. Following, the treasurer's report by Mrs. Donald Walters and the club’s corerspondence by Mrs. Richard Mies, a detailed report of the recent dance was presented by Mrs. Denzil Dowell. It was unanimously voted to schedule another "Summer Kappades” for 1959, with Mrs. Ralph Allison named as chairman, and Mrs. John Brecht' as co-chairman. Assisting with a state sorority project, the club is going to participate in a “coffee day for mental health,” Oct. 8. Mrs. Jo Kaehr and Mrs. Lyman Hann were named co-chairman of the event, which is an all-out effort to support the state mental health association. The sorority will divide into groups of hostess to whose home the guests will be invited, a chairman to co-ordinate the arangements for the group, and three other members to help with advance arrangements. Each group of five will be instructed to invite twenty guests with the understanding that a voluntary silver offering will be given for mentaj health. Prior to dismissal. Mrs. Christen announced that the next meeting of the group would be the annual picnic, at which time the new members will be the hostesses. GARDEN PILGRIMAGE IS MADE BY CLUB Twelve members of the Decatur Garden Club made their garden pilgrimage in Decatur Tuesday afternoon. -— At 12:30 o’clock, a luncheon was served at the Fairway restaurant and the afternoon was spent in visiting the flower gardens at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sutton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Smith, Mr. and Mrs. George Stults, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. MacLean, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zimmerman and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Yost. The members also visited with Mrs. G. T. Burk, a charter member who was celebrating her 93rd birthday anniversary. Members of the St. John’s Lutheran Walther League will sponsor an ice cream social Sunday at 8 o’clock in the church grove.
CASE FAMILY REUNION HELD AT BAILEY HOME Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bailey were hosts to the members of the Case family who held a reunion Sunday. A basket dinner was served at noon and games were played during the afternoon. EXECUTIVE BOARD OF WOMAN’S CLUB MEETS Members of the executive board of the Decatur Woman’s club met Tuesday afternoon at the public library to outline the club’s activities for the coming year and make plans for the club’s formal opening, planned for October 20. Mrs. R. C. Hersh, general club president, presided over the session, which was attended by Mrs. Stuart Brightwell, president of the Music department; Mrs. Richard Mies, president of the Junior Womens Department; Mrs. Reid Erekson, president of the Dramatic department; Mrs. Franeis Ellsworth ; president of the Civic de.partemerit; Mrs. M. A. Frisinger, president of the Art department; Mrs. Edward Cook, president of the Literature department; Mrs. Leo Curtin, secretary of the general club, and Mrs. Thomas Buuck, treasurer of the club. Oficers unable to attend were Mis Frances Dugan, second vice president; Mrs. Dick Linn, first vice president; and Mrs. Glen Hill, junior past president. The Woman’s club district convention which will be held in Decatur late in September was discussed, and it was noted that many of the state officers will be in attendance. More details will be announced in the near future, as this event will take place prior to the club’s initial meeting of the year. Mrs. Hersh agreed to assume the duties as chairman of the program committee for the opening meeting, and she will be assisted bv the other board members. Mrs. Mies was again appointed to fulfill the responsibilities of publicity chairman of the entire club. Dates of the general’‘meetings will fall on the third Monday of each month as they have in the past, and it was agreed that these meetings will begain at 8 p.m., instead of 7:45. The opening departmental meetings will be held the first Monday in October, unless voted otherwise by the department officers. The Limberlost Archery and Conservation Club members will hold a club shoot, Sunday at 1:30 o’clock. It will be a Redlands Round consisting of 4 arrows marked and shot 1,2,3,4. Rules will be explained at the shoot. MT. TABOR SOCIETY IN RECENT MEETING “We’ve a Story to Tell” was the theme song that opened the meeting of the members of the Worn- ■ an's Society of Christian Service of the Mount Tabor church who met at the home of Mrs. Dorwin Drake recently. Mrs. Gladys Tumbleson presented the lesson on the federation of Methodist women and the purpose were given by Mrs. Ed Kdss, followed by the reading of the first and second leters by Mrs. Drake and' Mrs. Paul Rich. The call to worship, Psalm 117, was given by Mrs. Harve Culberston and a duet, "Take My Life,” was sung by Mrs. Clarence ' Chronister and Miss Myrtle Clements. Prayer was offered by. Mrs. Oscar McMichael, and following the reading of the letters, the benediction was given by Mrs. Tumbleson. During the social hour, the poem, "His Yoke,” written by a member of the class, was read by Miss Clements. Two contests were played with prizes, awarded to Mrs. Koos and Mrs. McMichael. Mrs. Drake later served the seven members and four guests refershments of cookies and ice cream. Miss Clements will be hostess for the next meeting. A hat party will be held by the members of the Decatur Weight Watchers club Monday at 8 o’clock at 704 Dierkes street. Mr. and Mrs. George Fosnaugh, former operators of the (Adams county home and county farm, now of Bluffton, have bought the Mary Zimmerman property at Linn Grove. Miss Carol Rumschlag, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rumschlag, celebrated her 16th birthday Wednesday. Wilder of route 2, Woodburn, are the parents of an eight pound, 14 ounce girl born July 9 at St Joseph's hospital, Fort Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob C. Heiman and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B.
