VEDA CRIST IS WED TO HARVEY HAGGARD Friday evening at 7 o’clock, Mrs. Veda Crist and Harvey Haggard exchanged' nuptial vows m |he Monroe Methodist church with the Rev willis Geirhart officiating. Following the ceremony, a dinner was held at the Dutch Mill, Bluffton, for the immediate family. The center of the table was decorated with a wedding cake flanked with candles and at each ' end of the table were floral arrangements. Both teachers at Adams Central, the. couple will be at home on route 2, Decatur, following a two weeks trip to Florida. Members of the Friendship Village Home Demonstration club will meet at the Kimsey school, Thursday at 1:30 o’clock. The members observing their birthday anniversary from January 1 to July 1 are asked to bring a 50cent item for the birthday auction.

CELEBRATES FIFTH , BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY Master Gary Burkhart celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary with a party given in his honor by his mother, Mrs. Lester Burkhart of route 6, Decatur. During the afternoon, the young guests played games and were served ice cream and cake. Following the games, Master Burkhart opened the gifts which he received from Miss Linda and Master Roger Nicodemus, Miss Darlene Workinger, Master Norman Brokaw Miss Joetto Habegger, and Misses Linda and Miss Nora Brokaw and the Mesdames Bud Nicodemus, Bob Workinger, and Fred Brokaw. MONROE METHODIST WSCS HOLDS MEETING Group singing led by Mrs, Clifford Essex, opened the July meeting of the members of the Women’s Society of Christian Service held Thursday in the Monroe Methodist church’s annex. Mrs. John Christner presented the evening devotions, using Proverbs 31 and the poem “Touching Shoulders” and closed with a prayer. The lesson theme, given by Mrs. Clifford Essex, was “Strength for My Weakness.” During the business session, under the direction of Mrs. Glen Stucky, president, it was announced that August will be vacation month and that the Steptember meeting will be changed to Friday, September 5, in order to have a returned missionary as the guest speaker. Prayer, led by Mrs. Russel Mitchel, dismissed the meeting. Mrs. Ed Boggess. Mrs. Martin Steiner, Mrs. Claude Laisure, Mrs. John Gage, Mrs. Rose Hock-, er, Mrs. Veda Crist, and Mrs. \ Richard Martin served refresh-| ments to the members following the meeting. Daniel A. and Rozann Kelver Kwasneski of 252 South Second Streets are the parents of a girl weighing five pounds and 13 ounces and born at 9:40 p.m. Saturday. A boy weighing six pounds, seven and % ounces was born at 10:45 a.m. today to Charles and Rosella Schafer Fravel of Geneva. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Conrad, Rosie and Billy, returned home from a week’s vacation in Kansas where they visited with Pfc. Paul Conrad, Jr., who was celebrating his birthday anniversary. Conrad is stationed at Ft. Riley. Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Diehl will observe their 50th. wedding anniversary Tuesday but because of Mr. Diehl's health there will be no celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Reppert of Fort Wayne, visited Sunday with Mrs. Forest Owens, who has been confined to her .home the past week. The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Miller and son Stephen, will sail on the Nieuw Amsterdam Friday for Europe to resume their missionary work in Holland. Mrs. Miller was the former Anna Brandyberry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Brandyberry of this city. Mr. and Mrs. David Roth and their son and his family of New Jersey have returned home after spending a week in Decatur visiting with Mrs. Orval Lenhart and other relatives here.
