S. savings bonds in Indiana and throughout the country during May feU below the totals for the corresponding period of last year, according to a report made to T. F. GraUker chairman of the Adams county, U. S. savings bonds committee. The fact that there was one business day less last month than a year ago and that Memorial Day created a long week end this year, which may have delayed sales reports by banks to the Federal Reserve Banks in Chicago and St. Louis, is beUeved to have contributed to the drop in sales volume. Indiana’s savings bonds sales for May Were $11,669,543 as compared with $12,409,643 for the like period a year ago—a drop of 6.4 per cent. The loss in national sales for the month was 5 per cent. Sales for May in Adams county were $54,453.33 compared with $72,600.74 last year. David A.
